How many years have passed in the comics/TV series since the outburst?
About 10 months in the Show and 2 years in the comics iirc
I understand the reason why Rick didn't do it, but...
...I totally would have saved that backpacker guy.
Yeah, now. Not in a zombie apocalypse.

I cringed when [sp]Michonne warned rick about the traps, and he uncovered all the knife blades hidden under the door mat.[/sp] Just the thought of that going wrong.
[sp]Also that axe[/sp]
[sp]Also that axe[/sp]
The little "Told You" written on it was a nice touch.
I love this series, whether it is the comic, game, or TV show.
Having to wait a year between each book is hard... hurry up October.
Even in a zombie apocalypse, a lot of people would have picked him up.
It's just what Rick's been through recently. He doesn't trust anyone new anymore.
you're putting yourself in rick's position
you would not pick him up either if you'd been under the exact same circumstances
Why would you pick up a random guy who you know nothing about? Its another mouth to feed and you know absolutely nothing about him. He could be mentally unstable, he could've been with another group and murdered all of them for their stuff. He could've had 8 people hiding out in the bush to ambush Rick if he'd stopped. Hell he might be a Governor spy or assassin to infiltrate the prison.
Quit saying that you'd be naive and pick him up, because you really wouldn't. And if you would, you would've died months ago.
I cannot wait until the day i see Andrea die!
I need spoilers for episode 13. PM me please

They are really cracking down on spoiler release.
The sources I got the previous summaries from are no longer accessible at this moment.
He IS eight years old in the comics after a while. He's originally seven.
I think that was a mistake. He's way to young to do what he does. 13/14 is a much better age.

I think that's the point

I know, but I'm saying an 8 year old isn't going to be capable of even comprehending most of it. Certainly not shooting guns, and running off by himself to do things. An 8 year old in this situation would most likely never leave his parent's sides.
I know the point is he's a young kid who shouldn't have to deal with weapons, constant death, and survival, but I'm talking purely about physical and mental ability when I said 8 was too young to do what he does.

Once again, kind of the point. [sp] Carl is going just as insane as rick is, but in a different way. He's hitting his independent rebellious stage much earlier because he feels he has to because of what he's witnessed. You can't say that he's mentally not able to do these things, because thats the entire point of the walking dead, minds change in ways never seen before. as for physical ability, well you'll have to apply a little bit of suspension of disbelief there. [/sp]
I really want to know if in the tv series, [sp]they'll cut off ricks hand, kill the baby, and shoot Carl in the eye. I personally highly doubt they will.[/sp]
Also in the most recent episode it really pissed me off that [sp]Andrea didn't kill the governor when she had the chance.[/sp] She use to be one of my favorite characters. Now, not so much.
They will not [sp] cut Rick's hand off. Kirkman said he regrets a lot for doing it in the comics. No way he'll do it in the show. [/sp] <Comic book spoilers.
Would be cool if they did though

FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK clicked on the page and wasn't expecting comic spoilers.
please tell people before you post comic spoilers
I'm not so sure that they will [sp] cut off Rick's hand [/sp], although I'm kind of hoping that they do, but I'm almost certain that they'll [sp] kill the baby [/sp]. They'd be kind of stupid not to.
I see them setting up [sp] The killing of the baby and beth or carol as they are the two that are caring for it the most. [/sp]

Whoops, sorry man. I fixed it now :( But don't worry. It won't happen.
On season 3 now. Getting through this series at a blazing pace.
Boy is Rick becoming an ass.
[sp]So let me get this straight. Rick didn't pick up the hitch hiker because he could have been a threat, right? What about the crazy fucking tyrant who wants to kill him and his entire group? Doesn't he need all the help he can get against his 30+ person, well-equipped army?[/sp]
In Rick's defense, he's fucking nuts now so I can't say I expected it to be any different... My asshole is just really ravaged over it I guess
[sp]But what if he solves the tyrant problem? He's left with more people to feed. Another person to look after. He can't trust them either.[/sp]

Considering the guy [sp]was yelling,[/sp] it was only a matter of time until [sp]he got ate.[/sp]

I don't want to carry this on any longer, but personally I think a few years older would be better. Having relatives who are 8 years old, I don't think someone that age would be anything but helpless. They can walk and talk, but as far as taking care of themselves they're still entirely dependent on adults. 2-4 years would make a much bigger difference than you'd think.

His age in the show is perfect, what it should be in the comics.
