SDM? And what are the differences between all three?
SDM = Squad Designated Marksman DMR = Designated Marksman Rifle The one point only attaches to one point of the gun, I can get pictures of how the AK one point I have works, if you want. The two point is the regular one, it attaches to two points of the gun, (the mount in front of the handguard and one on the stock, in case of the M4-pattern rifles) and fits pretty well, but it CAN bounce around and hurt yer knees. The three-point has another 'point' on the sling itself, that you can quick-detach. The third point acts as basically an adjustment point, when it's attached, it's easier to swing it onto your back or let hang, and it'd be tighter than a regular two point so it won't bounce around as much. But when it's like this, it becomes harder to actually shoulder the gun, especially with a full length rifle like the M16. It was possible with the M4CQB, just was uncomfortable. But you can hit a button on the attach point, and it basically turns into a regular two point.
So a 3 point is the best?
It's up to preference. I have a friend who likes the 1-point the best, and that's my least favorite. The three point is my favorite though.
It's all up to preference. I love 1 point slings and hate 3 points. 2 points work but are too slow for me.
The only thing I hate about one point is how the gun always bounces around when you let it hang on the front.
This is true, but that doesn't happen unless your planning to be running around with it on the sling. To fix that problem turn the gun around onto your back and run. EDIT: like running around with no hands on it.

EDIT: like running around with no hands on it.
I've tried swinging it around on my back, (for when I use handguns in CQB), but it becomes a pain in the ass to walk down stairs, mainly because of how goddamn long my gun is. It works fine though, I just usually keep one hand on the gun, and one on the handgun.
This was only 6 ibs and it seemed heavy for holding for a while.
Mine's 9.5 and it's only M4 length. You'll get used to it. I'm not particularly strong myself, you just have to change the amount of effort you put into each movement. It has more to do with your mind than your physical strength.
Ok, that and the sling should help.
You'll get used to it in no time.
Do 3-points interfere with ARs?
Three points are great as long as you don't have a vest to use them with. Interceptors they work well with, CIRAS are impossible. Get a bungee system for a vest. Also, I finished my first PMC loadout but I don't have a camera man to take decent pictures.
This one time this guy dressed like the scout and went to a game. People where wondering why the hell he wore blue to an airsoft game.
Could it work with a Crossdraw.
Ehhh, I could take out my old one and tell you first hand. But no, I'm never putting that fucker on again. I really think you should get a chest rig or something else.
For me it comes down to the length and weight of the rifle. For my carbine length guns (M4, G36K, etc) I use a 1pt sling. Since I tend to use these guns in CQB, being able to switch shoulders easily is a must, and a single point sling allows me to do that. I can also just drop the gun down and switch to my pistol. Most single point slings come with some sort of quick disconnect too, comes in handy when your gun dies and is just dead weight. For my longer guns (M16, SR25, etc) I'll use a 3 point sling. It provides more comfort and is more adjustable than a 2 point sling. You can have the rifle hang in front of you, to the side of you, or on your back with relative comfort. The downside to 3 point slings is it's very hard if not impossible to switch shoulders without taking the sling off. They also have a tendency to snag on pouches and branches more than a single point would. The majority of my guns are used with the Magpul MS2 sling. It can be used as a 1pt sling but easily converted to a 2pt sling. It also has a strap that can be used to quickly tighten the sling, comes in handy with the 2pt mode when you want the gun close and tight to you and out of your way. During gameplay I'll have it 1pt, but if I need to go hands on or if I'm dead I'll just switch it to 2 pt so it's out of my way. Or just watch the vid on the MS2 sling, explains it much better. Jesus that guy is on speed or something. I want to be him.
I know Chris Costa. He lives around me. Cool guy.
I'm getting close. If you want to learn those moves watch the Magpul training DVD's. Offers some good stuff, including that prone he did in the sling video. I've used that move to shoot people out from under a bus with great success.
Codemonkey, they're good, but it looks like the open space on your chest could be used better. And since I'm doing field with a fairly large gun, I guess I'll just grab a 3 point. [editline]08:44PM[/editline] Thanks Ender.
Do you own a chestrig, Kman?
No, why?
Giving reviews on items you don't have is something people don't usually do. The entire point of most chest rigs is to be light, to ventilate and to have all your equipment within easy reach IE: Along your stomach. Have you ever had pouches on your chest? No matter what they're you cannot get to them easily or quickly.
Well, I just said I THOUGHT that. I didn't say it was true, and I never reviewed it.
I never put anything on my actual chest, it may just be my opinion but it's more trouble then it's worth to have anything up their. I usually throw an admin pouch to use the space on there. But for example, pouches with magazines would be so irritating to get too. The only thing aside from Admin Pouches I can see on the chest is a holster. At the risk of not hitting myself in the chin, I may get a chest rig now. Also, should I get a camel pack?
Eh, not sure. I got one for my Chest Rig and haven't figured out a good way to wear both yet, granted I haven't tried yet. Also, chest-rig is $20, the Crossdraws are $45. Crossdraws would probably be useful if you had seven pistol magazines and needed them all. But even then there are more elegant and functional vests for pistols.
True. And aha just figured out I had 2 MICHs in my cart.
I got me a chest-rig from Flektarn.co.uk, it fits six M4 mags (or three AK mags), and has two utility pouches on either side. Costed me about $65, well worth it. [editline]07:29PM[/editline] http://www.flecktarn.co.uk/ustmb9nx.html
