But the guys with the upgraded weapons have to be competed with. If you can't beat them, join them.
A very fair point indeed.
Plus, without them, I wouldn't have targets for my 8mm Co2 grenades. :v:
Yep. And I've still got my G36K which isn't too far above stock form for when I'm in a friendly mood.
There's the whole argument that it's not who's got the biggest stick, it's who's swinging it, but realistically, the biggest stick makes a whole world of difference.

I didn't, and I disagree.
If you have 10 bullets going downrange and the accuracy guy can put down 3 in the same time, 3 of my spraying bullets will be "on target" perfectly, the other 7 will act as a blanket of fire and compensate for slight wind and such.
That and of course, there's a MadBull 6.03mm tightbore in it and it's incredibly consistent. So it's a win for accuracy as well. A double win.
Main reason for the tightbore is to squeeze out the last juices of power so I can use a slightly weaker spring.
i see these guys at my field once in a while, best tactic you can really do is out flank them, chances are they're only going to be doing covering fire so they can't be at two places at once, that or throw nades.

I'm well aware you can have both accuracy and a high ROF. It just feels wrong, upgrading your ROF and shooting 10 BBs when you can focus on accuracy and shoot 2 or 3 with the same effectiveness.
that or throw nades.
Thats generally my plan of action when these types of people show up, I just carpet bomb them into oblivion.
I downgraded one of my barrels once, It came stock with a 6.03mm barrel and I had upgraded it to 27bb/s it just felt wrong to be that accurate while firing that fast.
EDIT: I didn't go out and buy a new barrel I had it laying around from my first gun.
I'd rather have someone have a good barrel and have a high ROF than a bad barrel and a high ROF.
If the gun has a 6.08mm or other non tightbore barrel, that means that they hold down their trigger for a second, and it covers a MUCH larger area. If they had a 6.03mm, and held down the trigger all their BBs would go to a smaller area, so if they didn't make a good shot, I can still live.

Just... no. The same effectiveness of the accuracy is achieved without any need for skill just because of the firerate. Add the tightbore and some skill and the rifle becomes a precision instakill weapon too.
Of course, look at this from a team player point of view, I can lay down fire that will cover my teammates, and accuracy stands for nothing when the fight really kicks off because the slight breeze and wind make it useless, and the firepower hammering down lots of rounds is what gets the higher probability of that "lucky shot" on the arse sticking out behind cover. Accuracy is nice, but it's not everything, and it's definitely not "above" firerate.

You know what? I don't even care which is more important. Fact is, such firerates piss me off. Probably more because they guys at my field that have those kind of firerates are the kind of guys that strap on the box mag to the P90 with 3000 some BBs and just spray the shit out of everyone. You might not do that, but it's still annoying.

x1 Agree (List)
It's how spoiled rich kids play.
I fucking hate sprayers. Low/Mid caps + semi only ftw.
My friend's Marushin M1 Garand came defective, then came back after repair even worse, so now he traded it in for store credit.
$475 of store credit, lol.

I always choose if I want my gun to be an sniping weapon or an assault weapon. Once I get that I will make sniping weapons shoot slower, more accurate, and add weight to make the gun stay on target better. The Assault weapon will be less accurate, shoot faster, and be the stock weight so it's more maneuverable. Examples:
If I start with this regular JG M4:
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_166&products_id=3432
If I where to go for a accurate sniping weapon I would go with upgrades like these:
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_55&products_id=1233
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_170&products_id=4693
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_170&products_id=5295
And then weight down parts of the gun like the hand guard and stock so it's more stable. I would also get a red dot or a low magnification scope for your gun, and maybe a full stock so it's more stable.
Now if I wanted an assault weapon I would get something like this:
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_50&products_id=4138
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_51&products_id=3424

Received my KWA today after being parted so long, it's amazing to say the least.

It is pretty tempting. Especially if you have friends that would like to try airsoft, but you don't have any extra guns to loan.
In comparison to, say, an M4, how long is a FAMAS? I already have a really long gun (G3 + silencer :v: ), and don't want another.
RDA's review it's not too bad, but what the fuck does Jarek know?
"Let me just put this silencer on..."
1 minute later
"I'll try it this way then...."
half a minute later
"Okay, I got it on."

FAMAS's aren't that big. I just compared it side by side with my AKS-74un (stock extended) and they are nearly the same size.
Ah nevermind, the included magazine is a 50 round midcap, and I don't want to pay another exorbitant shipping fee when buying from ASGI ($12 shipping for a hop up nub and bucking :-| )
Edit:
Apparently my friend despises AK-style guns, unless they're an RPK. Isn't an RPK just like a long AK-47 with a different shaped stock, and a bipod?

And a slightly different handgaurd.
IMO, it's a giant overweight AK that gives the user an excuse to use drum mags or longer banana mags.
Does anyone know where I can find a Five-seveN airsoft pistol in black and dark earth? I can't find one for the love of me.

You know all those guys that piss you off with that firerate? The reason they piss you off is because you're one of the statistics they get to gun down repeatedly. The sport is competitive, matching the weapons people like that have is necessary. The whole point in upgrading the gun that far was so I'm not one of those pissed off statistics. Also, I use 330rd HiCap mags in my M4, short bursts.

No, that is not what I said. What I said was "The same effectiveness of the accuracy is achieved without any need for skill just because of the firerate." I'm pointing out that accuracy is not that important, not that skill is useless. The firerate compensates for the accuracy. Putting 52510968 BBs downrange for one kill is retarded. A short burst will achieve a kill if it is aimed properly, even at decent range with some wind. Otherwise, the firerate serves to put people's heads down so your teammates can advance. The skill is still used when engaging the type of person that uses 52510968 BBs per kill.
It's how spoiled rich kids play.
It's a cheap Chinese gun with cheap Chinese parts. The only expensive part of the gun is the Madbull barrel. Most of the parts in the gearbox enabling that firerate are made by Element.
You are not a sniper rifleman CQB specialist designated marksman SAW gunner. Stop trying to justify it. Just because everyone else does it doesn't mean we'll be happy when you join the crowd.

And thats why airsoft is turning into paintsoft. More and more speedball type fields are popping up, more and more people are turning their guns into massively unrealistic and retarded killing machines.
IMO, airsoft is NOT a competitive "sport" where you play to win. Thats paintball. Airsoft is a hobby where history geeks, gunfags, and armchair generals dress up in their favorite soldier costume, don realistic weapons and gear, and go out in the field, and pretend to actually be in combat for a day, then go back to base and have beer and pizza with some like-minded buddies. Not a bunch of macho meathead douchebags in-it-to-win-it.
Like you said, this "competitive" spirit is killing the hobby (note how I say hobby not sport). Airsoft is supposed to be a fun day of balls to the wall immersive firefights and hilarious antics and shenanigans, not a tacticool-leet-pro-spec-ops-do-anything-to-win competitive ragefest.
With the now low prices of very decent pre-upgraded guns, airsoft has opened up to an entirely new demographic. And while I love to see the hobby grow, Im not sure I like where its going :sigh:

I disagree. If airsoft is only a hobby in that sense then the direction which it grows will be only at the dressing up market, so there'd be no quality, just a very diverse selection of weapons. Airsoft is a sport. It's team based. It is competitive. It's not the kind of sport you put bets on, but if all it is to you is to dress up and not even try to win then what is the point in playing, why not just do military re-enacting?

Don't worry, I won't.
I have a good ROF, but I only really use it for trigger response and for the occasional burst.
