I don't do CQB but the improvement in performance above the G36K/M4/M249 length barrels really isn't notable enough to be worth the length, especially in dense woodland.
Got this in the mail from my girlfriend today:

She knows I play airsoft and thought it'd be cool if she got a bear with camo on it. So, I'm now rigging him into my emergency drag strap, so I can distract players with cuteness and easily shoot them.
Tactical Teddy FTW.
You should get one of the fishing vests for them and paint it black as a stand in for a tactical vest.

That would be cool too. They make Army helmets for them too.
Strap the teddy bear to your back and give him a toy gun. Then someone will always be watching your back.
How good are Tokyo Maruis? I've heard people trash talking.
They are pretty awesome internally. Externally they are kinda meh (2-piece barrels on their M4's). My TM FAMAS feels crappy but the plastic is actually quite good. Stock, TM's are 280 FPS to meet Japanese FPS laws which is quite low for most people. TM's are also quite expensive. In the long run I would recommend something like G&G over them. A G&G might break sooner but even after fixing it multiple times, its going to be cheaper then a new TM.

That was my original plan actually. lol

I'm trying to decide between the G&G GR16 and the TM M4. A friend of mine had the G&G. And I want one that's durable and won't break.
TM M4 uses a shitty 2 piece barrel which breaks easily (I saw it happen 2 games ago). Go with the G&G for sure.
Alright, and I hope it's durable?
Yeah, G&G's are very durable. My G&G M14 has just had basic maintenance (cleaning the barrel after every game) and it's lasted me for a year now with no problems yet.
Ok, cause I also looked at the G&G Combat Machine AK47. I can't tell if it's black furniture or wood. I keep finding photos of both. I'd like it if it has black.

As far as I know they only come in rubberized black.
I can drop my Desert Knight from about nine feet with no damage whatsoever. So yeah, I trust G&G.
Alright, I'll buy a G&G :). As long as that Ak is Black, that's my gun. I love the 47, but I wanted one a bit more modern looking.
If you want a modern AK get this if you can.
Now I'm thinking about that too. What edge does it have over the one I showed? And it costs a bit more, but if it's really worth it I can go for it.
The only edge I could think of is its what the Russians use IRL.
And it apparently has a metal body. Now I gotta brood over these two.
Hey, Codemonkey, if you're still desperate for a TAVOR, there's a guy selling one here...

not cheap, but probably one of the only for-sale Tavors in the US at the moment.

It's cheaper. :geno:
Is it? I have no idea what he was looking at getting it for. And factoring shipping... it'll probably be more... depending on where he is.

They usually go for $500-$550.

I love you. I'm desperate enough to buy it second hand, never used apparently. I'm PM'ing him about it now.
[editline]07:32AM[/editline]
FUCKING
I want to send this guy a PM before I go to work but I used up my number of registration tries because their fucking secret code thing is impossible to read.
If you give me all your details and credit card number I could buy it for you.
Okay, I got it. Sent him a message, hopefully he doesn't have a buyer already and I told him if he does I'm willing to pay the full $500 or match his price.
I'm taking this one home.
You need to make a cradle for when it arrives you can pretend it was a very late baby.
Holy shit Codemonkey you joined Facepunch on my birthday.
All the rage about the tavor in the US, how hard is it to get one over there?
Impossible through any retailer.
You have to either buy one from someone who bought theirs several months ago or FUCK OFF.
[editline]08:04AM[/editline]
There is not a single retailer within the continental United States that has one in stock - FACT.

I've been trying to buy one, going on three months now.

I assume overseas isn't an option, because I know Redwolf sell one, landwarriorairsoft sell one (where I'm buying it from)
