True, that's just being a lazy bastard, and I did see the guys point.
OP was banned, thread is no longer fun.

True, but there's still a huge misconception about "idea guys".
True, but there's still a huge misconception about "idea guys".
I don't really think that they're referring to "true game designers", most people on FP are referring to teenagers who give tremendously cliche and/or bad ideas for games and they expect other people to assist them with it. They're usually unable to coordinate the project properly and they take credit for the entire project most of the time.
Weird, I started as an ideas guy and am now a professional games designer. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need a skill where you actually make something to get into the industry.
Yes, it does help if you know mapping or some code, but isn't exactly required, so I'd recommend that you do some research before making such statements. I understand that you think this way, but you're probably thinking of mods or other small games. Try thinking large-scale and industry.
The games designer is as hard as other jobs, it's not just a matter of 'thinking of some ideas' - because some people just don't have the imaginative capability or logic to think out a proper, full game, such as yourself. How else do you think a game is made? People making random models and maps? If so then you're are utterly stupid.
Game design documents have to be written and constantly revised, then generally foreseeing the entire development as a visionary to ensure everything fits into place. Think again before talking about 'ideas guy'.
Just to clear things up, what I meant was that at the scale you're looking at here, which is a small team producing a small game, the "ideas guy" as such needs to have a full understanding of how everything will compile together, and will need to put in a huge input themselves.
As a modeler, I'm far more likely to want to help, say, a coder with ideas who knows what they're doing than somebody just with ideas.
of course, in the big industry then of course you need ideas guys! Although getting there is all a matter of knowing the right people, and by using your skills in different areas of games development you're bound to make the right sort of contacts. I hope!
Why is this highlighted?
people love internet drama
fps creator? What the hell are you thinking? I recommend you stick to making source mods rather than trying to create a game.
Make sure it has a good campaign like Modern Warfare 2.
If you're absolutely, completely serious about this, you need to create something called a design document, which is a 40 page or so document which goes into things like the gameplay, the outline of the story and just generally the whole game in its base components and whatnot.
This way, you'll be able to iron out any problems that you come to see as you build the idea up, and you'll also have the idea on a dated paper which can be a very basic way of cementing the idea in your name.
I also advise that you learn a bit of everything to a decent level, a project leader should be able to help out with everything and anything if need be, and at the moment you're just an ideas guy.
So basically, you have a long way to go from what I see
fuck that, to much thinking involved
OP just send me a PM if you want an original score to your game (theme song etc.). I could make you one without charge
EDIT:
Just noticed how stupid and immature OP is. He is also banned. W/e
OP just send me a PM if you want an original score to your game (theme song etc.). I could make you one without charge
It's kinda hard to PM when banned
What a shame he got banned, I was about to offer my services free of charge as an indentured-modeler for the remaining duration of the project...oh well, back to the real world.
From OP's DeviantART:
Favourite gaming platform: first person shooter (fps)
Edit:
As the marine walked across the battlefield, he saw the bodies of his fellow spacemarines, and dead bodies of orcs. for this spacemarine was haunted, not by the ghosts of the dead but by his own emotions, fear and sadness, he knew that he was the only survivor of the horrible orc rush. the only thing that was going thrugh his head was. 'I need to find a way back to headqurters.' He knew his jurney would be long, but seeing that nothing was left he picked up any extra ammo he could find and moved onword. When he got about 3 or 4 miles from hq he sensed somthing was rong, he waited then noteised somthing their where gunshots in the distance. 'the orcs' he thought to him self and begain to sprint towrds the sounds in the distance. When he got their he saw a sight, witch no spacemarine would see for very long, It was not orcs but trynids he moved to aid in the defence of his headqurters. knowing this might be his last breths of air he'd ever breath he opend fire on the attackers, only hitting afew he reloaded his bolter and fired once more. As he bolted the rushing gurnts he spoke the first things that he alwase spoke when in combat: 'FOR THE EMPIRIRE' when he fired his last 3 clips he looked up when he did he felt a pain in his chest, he looked down and realised he was impaled by a hungry tryinid he counted his last sceonds of life when the creature fell to the mudy ground, then the only thing he saw was his vision fading then just black. The next thing he saw, where giant gates with incribed letters that spelled HEVEN on the top of the arc he realisised he was in heven where all good souls come to rest he'd done his part for the imperum now his time to relax has come.
So, Op's dev team contacted me to ask if I would like to try the first 15 minutes of the game.
So I said why not. Since I work with PSea Gamers magazine, maybe I can feature it in next month's Issue.
And Since I do not want to keep you guys waiting. Here's a screenshot of the game.
