Ahahaha!

I call making the maps and receiving a fifth of the profits.
Potential COD killer right here.
Op, I hope you have copyrighted this idea, otherwise you are screwed, Me and My team, we have already started to make progress on a game thats exactly like this, but we started in april, Unless you can get a copy right for it before we can(protip: you can't) then we are gonna take every bit of grass cutting money you earn for the next 5 years.

"Realistic water effects make your game look the best." Realistic effects like still neon blue water.
FPS Creator is one of those things that could have been so sweet, but the idea was really badly executed. That's the thing: If you make a program that makes games easy to create, then you'll see an avalanche of shit made with it follow in its wake.
But seriously, if OP is really going ahead with this idea, then I'd recommend the UDK. It's easy, but it's not easy enough for every man and his dog to be able to make a game. Plus, the results look pretty damn good.
Because believe me being an ideas guy will get you nowhere.
Weird, I started as an ideas guy and am now a professional games designer. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need a skill where you actually make something to get into the industry.
Yes, it does help if you know mapping or some code, but isn't exactly required, so I'd recommend that you do some research before making such statements. I understand that you think this way, but you're probably thinking of mods or other small games. Try thinking large-scale and industry.
The games designer is as hard as other jobs, it's not just a matter of 'thinking of some ideas' - because some people just don't have the imaginative capability or logic to think out a proper, full game, such as yourself. How else do you think a game is made? People making random models and maps? If so then you're are utterly stupid.
Game design documents have to be written and constantly revised, then generally foreseeing the entire development as a visionary to ensure everything fits into place. Think again before talking about 'ideas guy'.

How long do you expect making the game to take?
How long do you expect making the game to take?
Probably from a few days to a few months, but less than a year. :v:

So pretty much EA's and every other major publisher's schedule?
Godspeed, op.
Ill be an awesome voice actor, director, beta game tester!
-snip- idy dooda
Why is this featured if it's full of flaming and trolling?
because garry wants to watch it in action

If game development was a role playing game, the ideas guy would be the dump stat

I think he is referring to mod making, in which case, he has a point. Very few have the ability to take the initiative, and those with the ability won't always do that. In modding, you need someone with both the idea and proper skills to do it.

I'd think that by "Ideas guy", he's talking about those people that just make a thread, post a generic game idea, and wants people to make the game for them.
Please don't highlight threads sarcastically.
