Yeah but with how drugs are now, there's more peer pressure to be a rebel and do something illegal and then there's misinformation...
Saying people do drugs because they're illegal is absolutely absurd. What? You think people will think the kid being pressured to do PCP will say no because it's now legal, and no longer cool? These are (mostly) dangerous drugs, not some indie scene.
Yet neither are a conscious decision.

Well, they would be less pressured and shit. And if educated then yeah, I think people are smart enough to not fuck over their life.

No, he will be pressured into it due to all of the false propaganda and infromation on it.
With proper education people can make the proper choices, no one has a real proper education on drugs and as such they don't know whats what.

Finally someone has my back on this. I'm tired and I'm having some trouble thinking straight.

So people just choose to change a part of their brain?
When did you ever choose you wanted to be heterosexual?
[editline]01:02AM[/editline]
And the animals, do they choose to be homosexuals too?
So this study obviously proves it. Even though they've done one test on one age group, it's concrete proof. Right. Have fun with that.

You do know how hard it is to test for a human condition that has no physical markings?
So let's see your proof that homosexuality is a choice.
Well, they would be less pressured and shit. And if educated then yeah, I think people are smart enough to not fuck over their life.
They would feel less pressured to do something because the consequences of doing so would be less? That's like saying people would be more likely to jump off a cliff there were spikes at a bottom.
They would feel less pressured to do something because the consequences of doing so would be less? That's like saying people would be more likely to jump off a cliff there were spikes at a bottom.
On the contrary, they are more aware of the consequences.

No, they will know exactly how the drug will effect them, and seeing as heroin, meth, and crack all have really bad negative effects from abuse, people won't be likely to try it, and if they did they would most likely do it in moderation.

Also, have any of you ever seen a gay person say it's a choice?

I'm sorry, I was unaware legalization and education were mutually exclusive.
:crossarms:
Wait, so even though you want all drugs legalized, you believe heroin couldn't be done in moderation.
I'm sorry, I was unaware legalization and education were mutually exclusive.
As far as im concerned if they get educated properly on it, and they still do it, it's their choice and no one elses, the government shouldn't punish the majority of people that don't abuse it for the minority that does abuse it.
I'm sorry, I was unaware legalization and education were mutually exclusive.
Legalizing without teaching about it wouldn't make much sense. At least in NJ, we have a fairly accurate drug program without too much bias. Hell, they came in and gave us a presentation on how much drugs cost, and what they do. They didn't say anything untrue about weed.
Wait, so even though you want all drugs legalized, you believe heroin couldn't be done in moderation.
Well, herion is somewhat extremely addictive. Also, just because legalization would lower crime and stuff, that doesn't mean that people would start or stop doing hard drugs.
Well, herion is somewhat extremely addictive.
Just because it's extremely addictive doesn't mean people can't/wont do it in moderation.
and it also doesn't mean people won't go to something like morphine or some other version of it either.
Just because it's extremely addictive doesn't mean people can't/wont do it in moderation.
I suppose you have a point.
For me as a non-smoker, i would like all cigarettes to DIE!!!
As far as im concerned if they get educated properly on it, and they still do it, it's their choice and no one elses, the government shouldn't punish the majority of people that don't abuse it for the minority that does abuse it.
How are you sure only a minority will do drugs? What if that minority is fairly large? 5.7 percent of the US (give or take .1 or .2, the survey was done in 2001) are heavy drinkers. 5.7 percent are willing to drink so much to the point where they are in the position to do some idiotic shit. Thats 12.9 million people, who can't control themselves. I sure don't want 12.9 million people in the US addicted to coke, heroin, PCP, LCD, etc. and killing people (read: car crashes)
For me as a non-smoker, i would like all cigarettes to DIE!!!
because they live in the first place.
For me as a non-smoker, i would like all cigarettes to DIE!!!
Cigarettes are not a living entity. :crossarms:
Religion gone. Poverty gone. Retards gone. War gone. Colonise the moon, Mars. Why? Because that would be awesome. Giant moving cities like in Mortal Engines, but without them eating each other. Less pointless celebrities (Jade Goodie this would have meant you). Faster internet for me. Equality for all. Flying cars that go mega fast. Everything runs on hydrogen.
Am I asking too much?

Then make it just illegal to produce and distribute. This away you can avoid legitimizing the drug trade, and let having to deal with criminals it's own punishment.
More funds to space exploration and science. World peace.
No more communism/dictatorships/fascism. No more corrupt/greedy politicians. Guns laws in the US to remain the same. (And not get any stricter) No recession.

I'm saying the minority of the drug users do stupid shit while on drugs, and it's that minority that gets used as examples causing everyone else to think that everyone acts the same way, where as it's really not true at all.

making it illegal to produce and distibute would still leave drug cartels and gangs in power :downs: and versly, making it legal would make all of these guys go legit and have actuall businesses where they don't have to worry about getting arrested for what they do.

Yes. (even though you can't say no more communism seeing as it has never fully existed in the first place)
