Going on a 2500km roadtrip in a 20+ year old car during a holiday weekend, which means no repair shops or scrapdealers are open. Any suggestions on stuff I should bring "just-in-case"? The car itself is Volvo 740 in fairly good condition with 230 000 kilometers so it'll run atleast another 150 000 or so without any major problems, but you'll never now...
check fluids bring extra fluids with you, along with air pressure meters and air pump

But if you really insist: bring engine oil, coolant (or bottles of water in worst case could work)
Seriously, I meant in terms of tools, fluids
The guys were only joking around with bringing condoms, but you want to go all out and bring tools and fluids and shit. Dauym.
Me and my friend Brad found an old Datsun Fairlady in someones back yard, I asked the guy who owned it if he wanted to sell it but he said no, so we asked if we could just go look at it. So we took some pictures. It is the only one I have ever seen IRL.
It could still be restored if the bottom isn't rotted out.
It could still be restored if the bottom isn't rotted out.
I am sure it could be restored but I doubt it will be done.
It's too bad he won't sell it to you though. I mean what's so important about it to him that he has to keep it on his lawn rusting away?
Fuck the Midwest and the lack of nice condition 90s cars!

Alright I'm not very good with cars. Is it bad that my car looses brakefluid? It's not a lot, but I have to put in more every 4-5 months.
Alright I'm not very good with cars. Is it bad that my car looses brakefluid? It's not a lot, but I have to put in more every 4-5 months.
If you recently swapped some brake parts it could be air in the system that's slowly getting out, otherwise you probably have a small leak somewhere.
How much to you think such a leak would take to fix? Is it cheaper than actually buying a small bottle of brakefluid twice a year?
I've no idea, probably depends on where it is. A new brake hose on my front right wheel cost about 200€ for me but Volvo's prices are ridiculous anyway. If it's cheaper probably depends on how long you're planning to do it. I also wouldn't bet that a small leak can't turn into a big one. Worst case being the whole braking system looses pressure and you'll run over a disabled child from Ethiopia and hate yourself for the rest of your life.
How much to you think such a leak would take to fix? Is it cheaper than actually buying a small bottle of brakefluid twice a year?
I think it's safer to repair it, mayb u can ask that they take the air out of the circuit first to see if that's the problem, but you'll pay for doing it twice if that isn't the problem, cause if they put a new circuit they'll do it anyway. Or you can take a look and see for yourself if there are leaks?
AH WHAT OLD FUNNY SYMBOL IS BACK wuuut v v v [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] :geno: and i cant self rate cos im a loser

We need an automotive master rating for this sub-forum. Kinda like "smarked" for the drugs discussion.
