I recently got a job as an insurance agent and as such I have to drive all over the place to visit clients. My phone's GPS just doesn't do the job, especially out in the boonies where there's no cell service.

TomTom is pretty icky, go with Garmin. Not sure what the price range is on new models, I always bought used. Got some for less than $75, I don't doubt you can find a nice 5" one for under $200, maybe even new.

4 barrel or two barrel? If it's a four barrel 305, swap to a two barrel intake or use an adapter plate and get you a two barrel carb. Much better on fuel, even though you'll get less power out of it.
Really all I can say, V8 mileage is always horrible. Only other advice I can offer is keep your foot out of it, accelerate slowly, take as much weight out of the car as possible (Hauling around your bowling ball collection might seem cool and all, but please, take it out of your car).
I have absolutely no idea what you said past "4 barrel".

Yeah, mine's the top one, just not nearly as shiny.
Keep your foot out of it is all I can say. Keep it clean, clean the carb with carb cleaner regularly. Use 5w30 instead of 10w30 or 10w40. Those are really all the tips I have.
