also i agree about the 4pot thing, i saw an s2000 with red calipers and it looked cheap as shit
take a picture of them maybe someone will photoshop em for you
brown/grey represent.
Just let it sit overnight. Painted calipers are overrated anyway. It looks cheap unless you paint them black or silver. Only high performance two-pots (i.e. Baer) or four-pots and above really look good painted.
Mine are silver as stock. Thinking blue would go well with my silver car.

Hey I Liked it, all that mattered. On my New car The front's already black, but i need to paint the rears black. Gonna paint the Bracket Silver though.
Anyone familiar with the reliability of Mitsubishi 3000GTs or Dodge Stealths?
I wouldn't bet the farm on one of those if that's what you mean.
Oh god why does everything I have need work
My truck needs a frame off restoration
I think I heard a knock in my Subaru the other day
My atv needs an alignment and some clutch work
My top priority is getting my truck restored. I kinda want to do it soon so that I can drive it down to Vermont and show it to my grandpa. He bought it new in '79 and owned it until 2003ish when we bought it from him. I think it would be nice to restore it, take it down and show it to him, and take him for a drive in it as it hits 100k miles.
My mom owes me $600 and plans on giving it to me for my birthday in August, hopefully that will be enough. The truck already runs perfect, all of the drivetrain is in great condition, the paint is new but will need some work where rust has started, so I really hope $600+whatever i save up will be enough. It probably won't be this summer, but next summer that I could take it down. It's got something like 93k miles on it now, it's going to take a while to get it close to 100k.

I mean like how would they do as a daily driver?
I mean like how would they do as a daily driver?
Not too terrible but there's much better cars out there. Now if you wanted one as a fun car, then that's a different story.
I would much rather have a good daily driver that can be fun to drive whenever I put my foot down rather than have a car that's meant to be driven only for fun.
Well what I'm talking about is this; my first two vehicles were both 3.8L V6's. I'm incredibly used to being able to have a very good amount of acceleration for getting through orange lights, passing, etc. I don't think I'd be comfortable driving anything that isn't at least a 2.0L with a turbo or a 3.0L V6. At the same time, I want something that'd be reliable enough for daily driving regarding college and work.
Anyone familiar with the reliability of Mitsubishi 3000GTs or Dodge Stealths?
I don't know about a dodge but I do about the Mitsi's. They came in two flavours of engine. 3.0L V6 N/A and twin turbo. Don't bother looking the N/A version of the car as they are sluggish as hell, even more so if it is a 4WD drive version, the rest are front wheel drive. No good. If, on the other hand it is a twin turbo then you'll have yourself one hell of a quick car for a cheap-ish price, around 5 seconds to 60 and will carry you past 150mph with an unbelievable amount of tourqe. They all came in 4 wheel drive (Well UK cars did) with plenty of traction and stability control electronics to keep your wheels planeted, and I believe they came with 4 wheel steering too.
All these goodies come at a price though, they can be pricey to fix. If you take it to a Mitsubishi dealership they will more than likely sub the work out at an expense. So if you're looking into them then make sure you have a well maintained model, if you pick a good one up you won't have to spend a penny but if you pick up a dud then it can be a money pit.
They are great cars from the Playstation generation, on par with Skylines and older Scoobies and can be picked up for a reasonable price. I'd advise you to look for the facelift models, '94+.
Don't necessarily let the repairs put you off, they are reliable IF they are well maintained, like any car, but spares can be more expensive than others car. But they are a treat to drive, really nice cars.
I've been toying with the idea of owning one but with petrol prices they way they are in the UK it would cost a fortune to run and insure, plus it's not too easy to find a nice clean, unmolested model.

Thanks for the lengthy reponse :)
A few other 90s Asian cars I were looking at include:
Acura CL
Honda Prelude
Nissan 240sx
Nissan 200sx
Mitsubishi Eclipse
Toyota Celica
Could you tell me about any of those?
I own a Honda Prelude. 5th Gen 2.2vti manual. Fucking amazing car! They are fairly cheap over in the UK so you get an awful lot for your money but not sure about pricing in the states, 110% reliability, great speed and handling. Obviously I'm biased but these cars are seriously under rated, they are seen as a luxury Honda Intera type R, pretty matched on performance but with the mod cons such as cruise control, air con, sun roof etc. The 4 wheel steering is amazing too, makes car parks and tight corners at low speed easy and the car feels perfectly stable if you're taking a sweeping corner at ~100mph. The road will crease before the car lets go, it really doesn't feek like a FWD car to drive. Boot space is pretty generous but rear seat leg-room is pretty non-existant. It's more suited as a 2 seater, very comfy leeather seats with one of the best driving positions I've ever sat in and the gearbox is a treat too. The car is quick before it hits VTEC but once you're over 5,200 revs the car absolutley flies! Revving all the way upto 8,500rpm. If you want something different, this is your best bet, I'm glad I bought one.
The celicas are very much the same, great value for money, performance and reliability, I was split between one of these and the Prelude. The model to look out for are the 6th Gen GTFours also know as ST205, Joe on here owns one. They are in another league in terms of speed compared to the rest in that list. Parts are fairly cheap as most of the parts are the same as 6th gen celicas. If you're not keen on the GTFour then the best 6th gen celica will be the imported SSIII, these come with the Beams tuned VVTI engines chucking out 200bhp. They are seriously rare.
The Acura GL and Mitsubishi Eclipse aren't sold in the UK so I can't comment. Unless the Acura GL is a Honda under another name? Do you have any pics?
As for the Nissans, I've only come across the 200SX, my friend owns one, a 97 2.0 Turbo. It's quick, not the fastest but being RWD and with plenty of tourque on top it's a fun car, I've only been a passanger so don't know how it handles but my friend had no troubles throwing it into corners and it held on. The engines are also indestructible when it comes to tuning, a small amount of money will easily see good power gains and the stock internals could probably handle well over 300bhp and still be fine as a daily driver. The 200sx hold their value over here so aren't cheap, you can pick up a ropey one for £2-3K but a good one will cost at least £5k.
Another option for you us a Toyota MR2 Rev 3. Often called the poor mans Ferrari. In terms of looks and speed. RWD, 2.0L turbo pushing 240bhp as stock but most can be easily tuned to 300bhp on internals, weighing in at just over a ton makes for one hell of a quick car but not very forgiving. Too heavy on the gas in a bend and you'll find yourself facing the other way, especially in the wet. It's always been rated as one of the best driver's cars for 90s Jap Coupes for being quick, reliable and fairly cheap to buy. Again, I've only been a passanger but they really do feel a treat to be in, only a 2 seater mind.
Hope that helps, I've got a massive soft spot for 90s Jap Coupes if you hadn't noticed.

The Dodge Stealth is the exact same as a 3KGT, they are made in Japan and imported over. No N/A cars have AWD to my knowledge. Neither, also, are in the same class as a GT-R because they weigh in about about 400lbs more.

Can't go wrong with any car on that list really. The 240SX comes with the KA24de so the 200SX would be more desirable. Acura TL's are nice if you prefer luxury. Celica, you'll want one with turbo. The latest gen Celicas aren't that bad either because they weigh so little. But FWD fail, girl car, etc. I'm obviously biased towards the Eclipse but only if it's a GSX. If you keep it stock and do all the maintenance, it can be very reliable. Don't bother with any of newer 2000+ Eclipses.

On another topic does anyone else name their car? I was original and named my BMW Eva.
Just found a pic of my friends old Skyline I took a couple of years ago. It's pretty fun to see how people are fascinated by it, but they don't know what car it is.
