It's not the engine that I'd be worried about. The rest of the car has done 340,000 miles. Suspension and undercarriage would be getting pretty tired by now?
meh its 500 bucks, runs, and according our the mechainic it shouldnt fall apart and now i can have a car while still looking for something better
meh its 500 bucks, runs, and according our the mechainic it shouldnt fall apart and now i can have a car while still looking for something better
500 bucks for a 340000 MILE car?! No thanks man. I paid 700$ Canadian for something with 300000 Kilometers and I feel like I paid to much. Honestly sounds like you got Jipped. Not sure if you have annual inspections there or anything but it's going to be a money pit guaranteed.
I got my car for $40, the price to pay a Meth addicted Locksmith to make me a key. My brother traded the pickup I made the mistake of buying with him(and didn't want anything to do with anymore) to a friend for like $700 and what is now my car. He drove it for a while and then eventually gave it to his Girlfriend, who then promptly had the keys stolen from her when she went to a fucking Rave. The car sat for like 3 months and my brother mentioned he was thinking about selling it so I reminded him he owed me some money. Googled some local locksmiths, found one that had it's address and phone number listed as nearby, but it turned out it was located in the next state over for some god damn reason. So I had to wait for 2 hours while the locksmith drove through traffic and got stuck in a Bridge lift on the Interstate between Washington and Oregon, only for him to tell me he wanted $300 to make me some keys. :argh: [editline]20th April 2011[/editline] Oh and the lady I talked to on the phone quoted me like $80.
I wonder why it is that all vehicle engineers, mostly the ones in WalMart look like they are on meth or coke or something. Like, they're incredibly skinny and have a rough stubble.
Because Walmart is actually a terrifically sad place to work, or at least the one near me is. [editline]20th April 2011[/editline] Bought some Seafoam today, gonna do that later.
once again its my mechanics sisters car hes been the mechanic on it since she bought it hes also our mechanic the new engine has 130k miles on it, the car had 170 or something
I paid $100 for my '88 Colt/Lancer/Mirage that had 76k on it :smug: It's got a hair under 100k now. Still looks like a brand new car inside and out (although it needs a wash).
I was trying to remove a fuel filter from a '99 GMC Jimmy that was rusted on. (It was, to my knowledge, that in all the 150k miles, it had never been replaced) As soon as I realized that I couldn't get the damned thing off, I called my friend up to see if he had any ideas. He proceeded to tell me that I should cut it off with an acetylene torch...

There rest are a bunch of Generation-Y eggbeaters.
Haha. I really want this: http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/2335733965.html It's one of those... Guilty pleasure cars. I want to get it just because it's so tiny and... I don't know. It just appeals to me. I could probably carry the damn thing in my pocket. Regardless it's still a shitbox. lol.
oh god i saw one of those the other day, the person driving was some 40 or 50 year old lady in a mcdonalds uniform i laughed and felt bad.
Seafoamed my car with the help of my brother. Was pretty easy seeing as my car is pretty much has a Glorified Carburetor with a single injector sitting on top of it. Put some in my oil and my gas tank and went and drove around and got on the freeway. As soon as I got on the freeway I blew a hole in the exhaust wrap I put on the other day. :frown: Vrrooooooooooooooom BWAP BWAHHHHHHHHHHHAM [editline]20th April 2011[/editline] Didn't get as much smoke as I thought I would from the Seafoam though. [editline]20th April 2011[/editline] It wouldn't sound so bad if it didn't echo so bad inside my car.
it doesn't smoke that much UNLESS YOU PUT IT IN YOUR VACUUM SYSTEM, where it's supposed to go.

I absolutely hate feeling spoiled, because I know how hard it is to work for your shit and be underprivileged. It's why I try and pay for everything I possibly can. Never borrow money from my friends or parents.
In response to lemon Y u no learn to put in vacuum system?!!? [img_thumb]http://www.openclipart.org/people/bogaut/y_u_no.svg[/img_thumb] Put into PCV valve (if equipped) for maximum smoking potential.
Yank the brake booster hose and use it, just make sure to pop it back on before you go driving or no power brakes. It wouldn't burn it, it would just be like putting it into the oil. I mean, you could put it in through the hose that goes to the PCV, but that would be into the vacuum/intake and not actually the PCV.
I want a honda cr-x badly :( i just recently fell in love with this car after seeing the new cr-z. [editline]21st April 2011[/editline] I got my permit today also, finally. What kind of loser doesn't even get his permit until he is 17, out of sheer lack of motivation.
Lol, who actually calls it the CR-X? Nobody puts the dash in there. Anywho, good luck getting one. They're a bit hard to find in good shape but I've had 3 of them. All of them have has rusty quarters so expect that... They're generally affordable but if you have a lot of friends make sure one of them has a nice car with lots of people room because you'll be hauling on passenger around for the rest of your CRXing days. Another nice solution is a Civic of the same generation. From the front you have the same look of the CRX but in the back you have 3 more seats. I went back to my EF hatch after having my turbo'd CRX, and although not as fast it sure is nice having extra seating room. Haha.
Heard anything about the Singer 911?
I remember a jalopnik post about it i think. isnt it like a company that refurbishes them with new 911 engines and suspension and stuff?

It vents FROM the crankcase, back into the intake iirc. And that's what I'm saying, only because the PCV feeds all cylinders and the brake booster feeds just a few of them.
Isn't the PCV the opposite? It vents FROM the crankcase, back into the intake iirc. And that's what I'm saying, only because the PCV feeds all cylinders and the brake booster feeds just a few of them.
That's what I meant, "out of", not "into". Sorry about that. Also, the Brake Booster has a higher vacuum pressure than the PCV. The PCV only feeds all cylinders (althought the BB feeds all on some cars) is because it goes directly into the airflow before the TB/carb, and thus is the SAME result as pouring it down the throttlebody or carb, literally.
Yea, I was thinking the same as to why it fed all cylinders. I know my BB line only feeds 4 out of the 6 which is why I'm going to send another 1/3 of a can through the PCV and some deep creep down the TB. (only did BB line when I did it the first time). Possibly even remove both intake manifold and TB to clean them myself.
it doesn't smoke that much UNLESS YOU PUT IT IN YOUR VACUUM SYSTEM, where it's supposed to go.
Ah, well I thought it all went to the same place. The line that feeds into the throttle body is between the engine and the firewall. Sucks because the engine is right up against the firewall, yet there's tons of room between it and the front. Oh well, I'll have to do it again sometime. But tomorrow I'm going to tear some exhaust off a Dynasty at the local Pick'n'Pull.
I got my permit today also, finally. What kind of loser doesn't even get his permit until he is 17, out of sheer lack of motivation.
Me. Got mine at 17 and I'm 19 now. Still have my permit. Should have my license by now, but when I took the test 2 weeks ago I was retarded and went 40 in a 35, insta fail. Oh, and I didn't have a car to drive until I got the one I have now. Which is the only car I can take the test in, because both my parents cars aren't considered legal according to the DOL. In fact according to the DOL, I don't know anyone with a completely legal car...except mine, which keeps blowing the exhaust off the cat.
Hey I currently have this grill: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/LWJDf.jpg[/img_thumb] which is smashed behind the extra light on the left so it seems pretty perfect on the picture but not in real life since the previous owner drove into something and bent the light backwards so there's no other damage other than the radiator that I've already ordered. So I'm gonna order a new one from ebay and I found two options: 1. Keep it original so it'll look pretty much as in the picture, just not smashed behind the light. 2. Get this: [img_thumb]http://i.ebayimg.com/10/!B6gM7Uw!Wk~$(KGrHqQOKnUEy0HPFSr!BM)gy5vc5!~~_12.JPG[/img_thumb] It's almost twice the price of an original one but god damn it's sexy wat do oh and I've ordered a new left taillight as the one that's on now got some fiberglass on it that looks extremely horrible
New page and no answer, anybody?
Looks sick but id focus more on things that add performance to the car, but that's just me.

They just did a (bad, very bad) photoshop of the Solstice.
