I bought it for $4000 but it had a blown turbo which was stated in the ad, but it also had electrical problems (from the SR20 swap done unprofessionally).
It had, however, a pretty good body, paint, full interior. It also had a fully rebuilt engine with Wiseco pistons, Eagle rods, Clevite bearings, Cometic headgasket, counterbalanced, etc..
The engine only had ~5000 on it when i got it but the chassis has about 230,000. Also, i noticed the odometer stopped working sometime between me buying it and now so im not sure the exact mileage
would it be good for someones first car? like insurance, and i have a garage so i can do my own stuff.
i have 4k to spend, and i'm narrowing it down to 240sx or the 300zx

300zx is a very expensive car to maintain, that engine is in there so tight practically anything requires the engine to be removed
i believe insurance is pretty good on 240's, i mean it was pretty much an economy car when new. You may not be able to get a reliable engine swapped 240 for $4000, but you can definitely get a decent ka24 one for that price. wont be very fast, but it will be hella reliable. you can learn to work on it, not complicated at all really since its a N/A 4 cylinder

So I still haven't gotten a car here in the states yet. I need to apply for a new passport, social security card, school ID, and all this bullshit just to get my license.
I'm thinking though, I could get a brand new 2011 car, an old german car, old Italian car, or old Japanese car.

Why do they let stupid people get their licence? I Wanna know in what Universe It's ok to drive down the middle of 2 fucking lanes, outta no where slam on the brakes THEN put your signal on, change lanes and drive down the middle of the other 2 lanes... Nearly hit the fuckin reject, missed him by inches.

Like my fathers old '95 F250 PowerStroke diesel.. the truck my father taught me to drive in, the truck people depended on to keep their driveways and a couple of gas stations clear of snow and ice during the winter, the truck that towed my moms Buick out of a snowbank after she crashed it.. I saw it just a few weeks ago at a scrap yard, all beat up
Every now and then I think about things like this and it makes me wicked sad, thinking about how these vehicles were once a huge part in peoples lives, and now they have been left to just rot

Do what I did:
1. Hit a patch of ice at 30 mph
2: Rip a hole in the transmission
3: Fuck up the rear suspension.
4: Insurance claim
5: Profit!
i dont want an insurance claim, i want it to be some repair that is pretty big, my parents will help pay for a new car when mine dies, problem is its the most reliable pile of shit ever, but it isnt fun to drive nor is it worth the ~20 mpg it gets, its just a pile all around
The car was totaled, we just got the money from the insurance.
