Granted its still sexy car, regardless
I have an option on the table to wait and get a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis for pretty cheap from a family member, the thing is it's a V8 and a bitch on fuel efficiency, and gas is at $1.24/litre right now. The car has some sentimental value to me, but am I insane for wanting it considering 3 month's gas will cost me as much as the car? http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-1995-Mercury-Grand-Marquis-Sedan-W0QQAdIdZ278649143 It's pretty much this, but with a more classic-style dashboard, not all techy and such, it has gauges and whatnot. I could probably get it for $500, but is it a dumb idea?
What's the total mileage?
Hell if I know, it's a grandparents car, so probably not exuberant, but definitely over 100,000km
Anybody know anyone that is selling a 92-95 Civic Hatch for 2k? I got cash in hand!
Check your local Cragislist, kijiji, or if you're in Canada, autotrader.ca
Yeah you should be able to find something decent for 2k, maybe a shell for cheaper and pick up a cheap swap to meet budget.
...and gas is at $1.24/litre right now.
I'm playing $1.50~/L in Australia at the moment.
I'm playing $1.50~/L in Australia at the moment.
balls to the walls. although today is the cheapest day. was seeing it for around $1.35/l at caltex, so plus 4c off too.
I'm playing $1.50~/L in Australia at the moment.
in your 318 do you have to run premium? my 325 says in a few places that it needs 95 and that is like 10c or 14c extra..
I'm playing $1.50~/L in Australia at the moment.
$2,56 for a litre two-stroke mix in the Netherlands. $2,25 for a litre of euro95 (normal) .
in your 318 do you have to run premium? my 325 says in a few places that it needs 95 and that is like 10c or 14c extra..
Well the original manual says to run premium 95, but I've had it on 91 quite a lot. Never E10 though, Never. Having said that, I do get quite a lot more distance out of a tank when I run Premium 98.
Ah yeah I forgot to mention. The 8 hour drive yesterday was with pollen allergies it was not fun :c
my cars still busted because my dad refuses to help me work on it unless it's on the lift and i understand that (we're both spoiled assholes) but i can't get the one front leaf spring bolt back on and i'm scared to put the camaro on the ground until i have it right ): and the camaro is hogging the lift right now so fuck it hnng im going to go to the garage and not come back until it's done
I'm thinking about fitting some new springs and shocks to my car to lower it, I took a photo and did some measurements and mocked it up in Photoshop. This is a before and after with 40mm lower G-max springs: Standard: -40mm G-max: What do you guys think?
it fits the car so I say go for it
It looks good but not all OEM shocks cope well with lowering springs. Sometimes the ride quality can become awful, others the dampers can wear a lot quicker. I'd stalk a few Fiesta forums and see if there are any known issues with the shocks or wheel rub.

G-max are highly recommended buy those guys, and in the post I said it comes with new shocks as well as the springs.
needs more like 90mm lowering [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] then again i drive a slammed 240sx so you prolly shouldnt listen to my height suggestions
I'm getting a car next year and dad says he'll match what I pay for a car, and I have $2,500 saved up so I can get a $5,000 car. The question is, Do I go for a cheaper car and have extra money (if so, which car?) or go for the more expensive one (which car) It can be 1k or so over $5000 as i'll probably get ATLEAST $500 by then
I drive a VW and I approve of that ride height.
Decided I'm gonna start working on my run down Astro. Probably gonna have to tear the whole interior out of it, might even need new seats if I can't get the mold off, passenger seat is broken anyways. Brakes need some work, they grab really really hard with a very light amount of pressure on the pedal, needs a new battery, tires, an alignment probably wouldn't hurt either. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] I guess my dad recently had all the Injectors, dizzy cap and rotor, wires, and spark plugs replaced before it sat too. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] I want it to sound like this.
Whipped ye olde Photoshop out, did some minor modding. What do you think? Yay or nay?
yay for indicators and tint nay for drop. don't konw why, but if that's what it's going to look like, it looks... uh... strange. dont know why
wat, that's the darkest legal tint? in norway you can pretty much paint the windows behind the b-pillar black and it's legal
wat, that's the darkest legal tint? in norway you can pretty much paint the windows behind the b-pillar black and it's legal
35% is the legal limit here (most likely for windows in front of B pillar) - however that wont stop a QLD (State of Queensland, Australia) cop from trying to defect you on it. I'd rather keep it all completely legal without question, I get enough attention from them as it is.
Legal limit for where i live in America is 5%...however, they also sell 3%, 2.5%, 2%, and 1% at Walmart...So i don't really think anyone cares, nor do they enforce it.

Just wanted to make sure you weren't going into it blind like quite a few people I've seen, ended up costing them quite a lot a few months down the line. Currently looking out for a new suspension setup for the Lude. Not too bothered about coilovers, some Koni Yellows and Eibach lowering springs should be good for a 40-50mm drop and decent ride. Still debating whether or not to sacrifice 1/3 boot space and put a strut brace on the back...

I got a K&N cone filter a couple weeks ago and fitted that after the recommendations from the forum. After the new springs and shocks next on the list is a engine swap with a 1.7 Puma engine, which has an extra 30BHP over the standard 1.6 ZS engine. After that the plan is for a full Milltek exhaust system including 4-2-1 Mani.
