• How Facebook is Stealing Billions of Views - Kurzgesagt (In a Nutshell)

I really don't get how a lawsuit against these content thieves wouldn't be an easy, in the bag, win. They obviously took the content and reuploaded it as their own. I can't imagine any simpler case of IP abuse.
Everytime I log into Facebook my news feed is filled with stolen content, video and images. The worst offenders are the ones that compress the shit out of images and add stupid captions on videos.
The people compressing the images and then facebook compressing it another 80% doesn't help. Can't wait for an alternative to Facebook, it's really become a sesspool.

I don't see why these people aren't sued.

Very few people use them though, and because of that they're not really an alternative at all.
The most annoying thing about that is that people are commenting on the posts saying 'this video was stolen' with 'get over it' or 'no one cares'.
I had to deal with a lot of this when my Metal Gear Solid animations were posted on Twitter, Imgur and Reddit without credit and I tried to ask the uploader for credit. It even came to straight out insults from some people. It makes me really happy when people comment and link to the source! (In the defence of the people insulting me, I did come off as an asshole because imgur wasn't allowing me to post my comments that allowed me to say I was the creator so I sounded frustrated by the 5th attempt. It shouldn't be this hard to make an account and just clarify you're the source.)
If Facebook introduced monetization, wouldn't that be much easier grounds for content creators to take individuals to court? If some asshole steals your videos, makes 10x the views you do and is directly profiting by gaining money from monetization, then surely that would be grounds to try to reclaim some of your losses?

They get offers to have their page bought for ridiculous sums of money, so the new owner has access to thousands of people and can change the page entirely to advertise their own shit. SoFloAntonio needs to get wrecked so hard by the law, the guy is a scumbag.
I've had content of mine repost, let me tell you: It's so fucking annoying trying to get it removed, or at least you recognized for it. 1. Commenting "This photo is my property, please remove it you don't have permission"? You're gonna get bombarded by facebook idiots saying "NO IS NOT URS IT HAS TEEN SWAG'S LOGO ON IT XDDD" 2. These "Teen Swag", SoFloAntonio, etc pages are run by these cocky-ass fuckers who think that they rule the web because they run a page with a million likes or some shit. 3. Facebook wants nothing to do with you. You're keeping them from your money. They basically shoo you away or ignore you until they know no more money can be made from your content, then they act. I've actually had to resort to placing logos and website links in the middle of videos, photos, etc. it's annoying because generally it ruins it.
This explains why when I see a video on here or on Reddit that about 2-3 days later people on Facebook start posting it. All I see is stolen content being reposted over and over. I seriously wish I could turn off everything in my feed except when people post pictures or statuses. Everything else is stolen re-posting spam.
Am I the only one upset that Kurzgesagt dumbed down to In a Nutshell?
Am I the only one upset that Kurzgesagt dumbed down to In a Nutshell?
"Dumbed down"? It's a smart move, not everyone knows how to pronounce Kurzgesagt, nor is it very catchy or easy to remember.
"Dumbed down"? It's a smart move, not everyone knows how to pronounce Kurzgesagt, nor is it very catchy or easy to remember.
These things aren't true, though.
"Dumbed down"? It's a smart move, not everyone knows how to pronounce Kurzgesagt, nor is it very catchy or easy to remember.
I will always remember and refer to it as Kurzgesagt :v: I think it's very catchy.
People who are saying it's catchy are wrong. Every time I saw a video posted in the vids section and I saw Kurzgesagt, I recognized who it was, but it's not a name I'd be able to recall to tell my friends about unless I had it right in front of me. Plus, it didn't stick in my head. Unless I saw it posted specifically in the vids section with an informational title (for example "How does bone marrow work? - Kurzgesagt") I wouldn't even pick up on it being these guys. In a Nutshell is way easier to remember and will make recommending it to other people much simpler. I reckon they made the right call.

That's really just your opinion, for me and my circle of friends, we remember Kurzgesagt and it caught on very easily.
I remember the videos as "the videos with the birds in it". [editline]11th November 2015[/editline] Also I can misspell it even as "kurzegast" in google and find the videos.
why do people care about reactions? if it was something like h3h3 which kind of makes a commentary about it and its always dead right about it, sure, but its just like, you know, a guy showing off a reaction, and thats it.
h3h3 is pure gold, I can't believe I avoided his videos purely because they had "reaction" in them.
This is what I hate most about facebook right now, as well as parasitic clickbait sites. When I go on facebook I have to scroll through about 5-6 items before I find something that one of my friends has actually posted.
What?
Talked to a friend about this by sending him this video, apparently instead of you know watching the original he likes getting spoon fed those videos on facebook and basically just doesn't care about them stealing stuff, telling me that the video gets famous and that's good. He thinks it's that easy to find some video that has been posted on facebook without the original source link anywhere, maybe it is easy when you search for the things that happen in the video but still that is a shit excuse of them reposting videos. Even telling him that if he made a video that got famous but his original upload on youtube got next to no views he will understand the situation but nope, I guess spending many hours on a video and then just having people see it is good enough, even if they have no idea who made it or even worse think that the guy who stole it made the video.
I feel really sorry for talented vine creators who get their videos stolen and reuploaded with barely a mention of the original creator, it's such a kick in the face to their work. I've seen many YouTube creators now prioritise videos to go on Facebook first just to avoid their shit getting stolen
