I like it a lot but the whole blade thing is too anime/mgs:r-like for my comfort.
That Kowloon looking area looks amazing
They've said one of the levels in the game is 1km and it's more than likely Golem City will be that level.
Hold on, is that room that Ricker (IIRC) is confronted in modeled off the room Sanders is confronted in in DXHR?
The door, desk, and window in the back of the room are all placed the exact same way. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an exit door on the right hand side of the room we didn't see as well.
good lord almighty that environment design
this series is the only one these days to have visuals to match the grandness of its concept art
[editline]28th April 2016[/editline]
there's good set design where you go "oh that's nice looking" and keep moving and then there's great set design where you walk around and stare at how amazing everything looks for an hour

I love it.
Human Revolution didn't need a sequel at all but it looks like they're going everything right.
Also it makes sense that Adam has more augs than he originally thought he had because [sp]praxis points were stated to fast track unlocking your capabilities instead of waiting for them to unlock naturally so all that combat tech like the typhoon was already inside you from the very beginning. Sarif had always intended to use Adam as a weapon[/sp]
i'll take bad lipsync over having to watch one more loop of that awful talkcycle animation every female character in dxhr had

The idle animations in DX:HR were pretty bad in general
That's kind of a funny way of explaining why Jensen has new powers.
He went through the whole first game without realizing there was software update available for his arm blades.

It's funny but makes sense in the character and company of Sarif, especially if you [sp]go through the finding out all that happened "that night". You'll find this is actually true to the series, Sarif more or less mashed everything possible into Jensen's body needed or not.[/sp]
Fucking loved HR, and this looks amazing
My body is ready
Phenomenal, but still lacking in the lip sync/conversation animations dept a bit.
Kinda always been Eidos Montreal's weak spot.

There is, if you 'fail' the social boss, enemies pop out of it IIRC.
Yeah, I dunno why they didn't go "AYO, HERE'S SOME INTERPOL UPGRADES UR WELCOME", that would have been the most obvious explanation.
because then all the interpol guys would have it
you gotta be the special augment man
That golden polygon aesthetic hnnnngh
So your method of attack actually has an effect now? That's pretty cool

That makes me want to make a full-assault playthrough and a pull pacifist.

Maybe it'll encourage me to actually switch it up and go loud for once
I get the feeling that since Adam has all this next-gen but old prototype tech buried inside of him, we'll end up having to fight soldiers with mass produced but refined versions of his augs stolen from Sarif Industries. I don't know if we'll win because they don't understand the augs properly and they're hack jobs, or Adam wins through experience
Very excited for this. I loved Human Revolution and Adam is one of my favorite video game protagonists so it's great to see him return. I might have to replay DXHR, one of my friends got me the Director's Cut so that'd be neat to revisit.
I wonder if there will be any returning characters. I saw Eliza [sp]although she's an AI so that doesn't really count[/sp] and your choices in the previous game affected what happened to [sp]Malik, Sarif, Taggart, and Darrow[/sp]. It'd be really interesting if [sp]Megan[/sp] comes back.
I still haven't played the original, though. I try to get into it but I get bored before I even get through Liberty Island.

Considering you now have a full-body shield augment that allows you to absorb damage, it should be a lot of fun.
Also it's good to see that everyone in the world of Deus Ex still has really great fashion sense.

I'm mostly curious how exactly the transition from ending of DXHR to DXMD is happinening and what happens to [sp]Sarif Industries and Sarif, Darrow and Taggart since they all were on Panchea.[/sp]
I still haven't played the original, though. Liberty Island is kind of a drag but the rest of the game is top notch, clunky at times but it's manageable. The story's great, and you'll appreciate Human Revolution a lot more if you understand the numerous references to the original.
Incidentally, they're releasing an art book with stuff from both HR and MD. I'm definitely going to be picking this one up once it releases.

yeah I'm 100% getting this, I love art style of both games, Adam Jensen character as a whole and well, pretty much everything.

I believe the canon ending is the one where [sp]Jensen decides to initiate self destruct on the station, believing it'll kill everyone on it.[/sp]

I hear from a lot of people that they dislike Liberty Island but it's one of the levels I personally enjoy the most. It's great as a tutorial, as the objective is relatively simple, there are multiple paths to it, and both stealth and assault are viable (though stealth might be a little too easy in this level).
There's lots of stuff to hack and lockpick, a vendor to show you credits can actually be handy to have, and two optional objectives, one of which offers you an additional way to complete the main objective. On top of that, the way you complete the Liberty Island has some effect on the rest of the early game, giving you the idea that actions can have consequences.
There's probably plenty of reason to dislike this level, but I think it's pretty clever.

I seem to recall having a hard time getting into it myself at first (I played HR before the original; I've replayed both at least 5 times I believe)
