I thought they were retconning all the endings into something else?
All endings are "canon" but in the most logical way.
The Narrative Director explains that in the midst of this worlwide chaos the message goes out but it's lost in a sea of hysteria and people making up their own crackpot theories.
As she puts it "you can't just change the world by pushing a button" which yes before you say it is a jab at their own bad attempt at doing an ending in HR.
I hope we get to see Malik again, she was a cool flygirl, but that probably won't be the case.
Devs confirmed she's canonically dead. Which makes sense since she was 1 dimensional with no bearing on anything.

I have not played Deus Ex so I know jack shit about it, but this character looks like he belongs in Deus Ex universe(the original game I mean). It also reminds me, if you wait until end of credits in DXHR you hear [sp]Megan talking to some people that reference they are working on something that appears/happens/does something in Deus Ex.[/sp]
It also reminds me, if you wait until end of credits in DXHR you hear [sp]Megan talking to some people that reference they are working on something that appears/happens/does something in Deus Ex.[/sp]
heavy spoilers if you give a damn, but that [sp]"some people" is the Illuminati boss Bob Page himself - pictured there - and what they're discussing is likely to be a prototype for the Gray Death nanoplague or something related to nanoaugs[/sp]
I hope the choices are actually ambiguous and worthwhile this time around. It's tiresome to have games offer you one ideal path that the writers clearly intended and then give you underdeveloped choices along the way that don't amount to anything and quickly loop back onto the main course.
ie stuff like being a dick to people in HR lead to nothing and would lead to the exact same selection of endings in the exact same location.

That's Bob Page, the main antagonist of the first game.
The game is set in 2029.
2029 is the year that [sp]JC Denton[/sp] was born.
It can't be a coincidence.
Really loving how the soundtrack is reminiscent of the first game, considering the events of this game directly lead up to it.
I hope the augments don't just end up as convenience machines... that titanium shield and the "stun everybody in the room" augment is just kinda circumventing the gameplay that is already there, which kinda sucks in my opinion.
Staying cautiously optimistic.
This is reminding me of the fact that I still need to play the first game despite me having it on Steam for about 3 months. I should go do that.

i feel like they'll take up a lot of energy (bars)
Interesting, so we may see Jensen's attempt to do something leading into events of Deus Ex(1)?
they'll probably do a thing where adam paved the way for jc's existance, the predecessor that made everything possible.
[editline]29th April 2016[/editline]
at the end of the game you will be fighting against the illuminati who are trying to stop jc being born but you team up with the rogue faction resisting their control to create jc and you have to deliver the semen in a mail box
[editline]29th April 2016[/editline]
but a big robot man with a heavy european accent is there at the mailbox to stop you
You know, shouldn't Adam have massive man-tits? How do you work out your pecs with no "arms" that would use pecs?

Well he also doesn't gain fat because he doesn't eat a lot.
A diet of energy bars and alcohol combined with being an interpol agent probably does wonders for your physique
It sucks the novel never got followed up on outside of that awful mobile game.

Also considering you're Adam, Megan was Eve and JC stands for Jesus Christ I imagine there'll be some tight links to DE in this

That's an interesting connection you got there.

[sp]It already linked into DX1 in HR but this will lead into the great collapse and the birth of nano augmentation.[/sp]
Looks great and the gameplay additions are welcomed.
Still... If you're doing Prague and then fill it with Russians maybe go for Moscow next time.
You know, shouldn't Adam have massive man-tits? How do you work out your pecs with no "arms" that would use pecs?
The robo-arm sockets are still connected to his pecs
I hope [sp]Sarif's ending[/sp] is canon
I think the [sp] self destruct ending with hinting at survivors will be cannon, it would explain how the military and government were able to advance their tech so fast. My guess is it will be that Sarif had already been working on nanotech augs that you see in Deus Ex, the government just kinda took it from Sarif after using them as the blame.[/sp]

Because the EU totally isn't filled with multiculturalism.
Holy shit that looks great, I need to replay HR in preparation for this.
I hope we'll see Gunther Hermann or Anna Navarre in this, or at least some references to them.

Gunther was in the Icarus Effect book (which takes place about the same time as HR) as a young man. It was interesting, he [sp]had an augmented arm but was interestest in gaining more augs, and after a serious injury requires extensive augmentation across his whole body[/sp]
The graphics are definitely better than DX:HR but I'm not liking how the lighting looks here compared to the first gameplay reveal. It looks a bit low-contrast and washed-out compared to this.
