Seeing as the majority of people who are in this thread are comparing Metallica and Megadeth then why not continue with that. Honestly i think Megadeth is better. When Metallica started out and all the way up to a certain point, about the Master of Puppets album in my opinion, they were better than Megadeth.
Megadeth has constantly remained good and hasn't really had any failures. Metallica had some meg-failures, like the mojirty of their newest album. It sucked. So all in all, in my opinion.

Their new "hit single" is a piece of shit and Lars' drumming sucks. He may as well be banging on a bunch of empty, upturned bulk detergent buckets and plastic cups.
And FUCK Lars Ulrich for asking for a free copy of Guitar Hero. Wasn't he one of the major opponents of Napster? Fucking pay for your shit, asshole.

Technicaly Megadeth started as a Speed Metal band, as one of the original FOUR Speed Metal bands which moved rock & metal to where it is today.
Original 4 Speed Metal Bands:
Anthrax
Megadeth
Metallica
Slayer
They aren't Speed Metal they're Thrash Metal.
Speed Metal is just Heavy Metal with faster tempos, whereas Thrash Metal is NWOBHM and/or Speed Metal with Hardcore Punk elements mixed in, hence the aggressive nature of the music.

Thrash Metal is aggressive, Speed Metal isn't, therefore they're Thrash Metal.
