I got Endgame yesterday, and while being a very huge Megadeth fan, I can not say that this album is great. I feel like some of the riffs are recycled and have random solos put over simple guitar chords. Track 4 (1,320) sounds a lot like "loved to death" off of Killing is my Business. Also, the love song is not nearly as good as "1,000 times goodbye" off of The World NAH. I just feel like Dave also left his singing style behind, there are no memorable choruses, and he sounds so quiet and drowned out. I'm not happy. Don't get me wrong, I totally enjoy it like I do every other Megadeth album, I just feel like this is the worst one out of all of them, and that's totally my opinion. Keep in mind I've been listening to these guys since about 1993, so I've heard all the changes in style.
Does anyone else agree about 1,320 sounding like Last Rites/Loved to death? I mean, I know the melody is a little different, but I almost thought it was a remake before I heard the barely audible lyrics.

Yeah, he was taking a hood off of a prisoner or something. I also do not like the new Vic Rattlehead persona, he has skin now, and has since United A, but there were a couple other albums without Vic on the cover, the ones I can think of right now are Cryptic Writings, Risk, Youthanasia, Symphony of Destruction (maybe that was him with skin?) that's the only ones I can think of, it's not like Iron Maiden where all the albums have Eddie on it. Also, my favorite cover of all of them is The World Needs a Hero. I think the problem is that they used fan art for the UA album, and probably have since then, all the other covers were done by the same artist each time.

The lyrics reminded me of the SFSGSW, but that's just because of the odd sound quality off of both, but check out Last rites, and then listen to that song after, it seems similar somehow.
The rythym riffs playing under the solos on This Day We Fight! sounds more like Last Rites to me than 1,320.

Anyone else think 1,320 wasn't that great of a drag race/ muscle car song? You're supposed to be able to close your eyes and immagine being behind the wheel of a beast, but the lyrics really cut that feeling down. a good example would be "black sunshine" by White Zombie where the guitar actually sounds like an engine revving, but I have an issue with the lyrics on the whole album.
