A big moment for Facepunch!
Yeah definitely man, but in my experience with the world, material possessions don't make anyone truly accept themselves for who they are on the inside. I don't think money and clothes alone make anyone feel good about themselves on the inside. Yet you claim that he should be able to cope with it all purely because he has money and fame, which is what I'm disagreeing with.
You don't, but some people do.
:worship:
I rated you funny
You don't, but some people do.
Yeah, and the people who seek validation through material means are seeking that validation in an unhealthy manner, because in the end, things like money and fame don't make you who you are on the inside.
If I was fucking as many 14 year old girls as this dood is, I wouldn't really care about signing a piece of paper with the word cunt on it.

Plus garry makes an excellent point.

That people (males in particular) hate him because he gets a lot of attention from females and they feel like he's "fucking" more girls than they are? Seems like jealousy to me..
If I was fucking as many 14 year old girls as this dood is, I wouldn't really care about signing a piece of paper with the word cunt on it.
Don't worry, your time will come
It's unhealthy in your eyes. Plus garry makes an excellent point.
No, it is unhealthy. You don't have a clear understanding of what true self-acceptance is, seemingly, nor a good understanding of the human psyche if you can't grasp that it is in fact, an unhealthy method to gain validation.

Everyone has their own description of it so really there is no right or wrong answer.

Attention from 13 year old girls that don't know anything about anything (especially music) isn't really something I aspire to.
Sending these pictures to my friend.

and girls don't generally get turned on by the fact someones an indie game developer, although money probably helps.
Have my babies. Fuck it, have ALL OF OUR BABIES!
Tell me what true acceptance really is. Everyone has their own description of it so really there is no right or wrong answer.
Self-acceptance is about being able to look past the material world, past your own ego, and see yourself and other people for who they truly are. It is a state of mind where your own ego doesn't inhibit you from being humble and learning from the world. It's about placing your soul and spirit above your material possessions and looks in terms of importance, and recognizing that you are still you, still worthy and beautiful without these things.
I don't see why everyone HATES him, they have no reason to hate him besides that he is famous and in your opinion has shitty music. (I hate his music too) I've seen some interviews with him and i've known a lot more people who are bigger douchebags than justin. If someone could quote something he said or a way he acted that made him worthy of being hated please tell me.

He's getting attention at his age from girls in and around his age group, than you are in your age group? Otherwise, why would you even find enjoyment and possibly some sense of satisfaction, in the idea of him being put down? Because advocating ridicule towards him, a successful person, lets people avoid their own low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy.

Everyone has different ways of being happy and you can't really go up to someone who is happy because he's one a million dollars and say, "Hey you really aren't happy" because really he is. Maybe you won't be truly happy because you've won a million dollars but someone else could because different people like different things.
Because advocating ridicule towards him, a successful person, lets people avoid their own low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy.
I love how you just assume people make fun of him because they have personal issues with themselves, and not because y'know, they really don't like him.
Just came to re-read this thread and saw the video where he signed it. This is the biggest win I've seen on Facepunch so far. Sorry Staples thread you were good while you lasted.
Facepunch has finally made history. Let us begin from year 1 AJC. P.S: thank you for making all of us feel special for browsing the same forum as you.:buddy:
That's how you view it. How do you view it? I'm not saying that a person with a million dollars isn't happy simply because he has a million dollars, I'm calling you out on your ridiculous assertion that attaining self-acceptance purely through material means can be a healthy, legit way to gain validation. It isn't, and until you can explain to me an entirely logical reasoning behind why material possessions alone would allow someone to gain true self-acceptance, I'd have to conclude that you have no idea what you're talking about.
No because this is my forum and its getting me lots of hits and making me ad money :))
I'm not jealous of this forum because I have a computer and I browse websites with it. (i'm comparing your 5-digit website to J.B's 7 digit's networth)
I love how you just assume people make fun of him because they have personal issues with themselves, and not because y'know, they really don't like him.
There's a difference between not liking someone and shrugging them off, and not liking someone and going out of your way to bring them down, which is what the OP did. Even people going out of their way to make fun of him and write nasty things about him on the web, regardless of whether or not he even cares or sees it, speaks of something more than just a dislike, it's more like hate. And it's a completely illogical reaction to go out of your way to write mean things about someone who hasn't even done anything to you, personally. And illogical reactions like that originate from emotional instability. Like insecurity.
I have to admit... That is pretty fucking awesome.
Yes, this is how I view it, and it's how I believe everyone should view it. How do you view it?
So we can't have our own opinions now. I see. You and Kim Jong Il would get along very nicely, although he probably hates that fag bieber as well. You probably like Twilight too. [editline]12:17PM[/editline]
And illogical reactions like that originate from emotional instability. Like insecurity.
There is a new Dr. Facepunch.
