A new beta patch is now live. Read below to learn about the latest changes. To share your feedback, please post in the Beta Feedback forum. For a list of known issues, visit our Beta Bug Report forum. ... Tracer • Removed 'Over the Shoulder' victory pose after community feedback. • Added new victory pose 'Millenium Dome' • Tracer will now go down on all-fours and slowly sway her lower posterior to the rhythm of "God Save the Queen"
wait, that's not real, is it?
I think you'll find most people complaining about it thinks the exact same about the pose being removed in the first place.
I realize that, but I'm talking about all the radicals involved, not strictly those complaining that it was removed. I do think it being removed was pointless. I think acting like this means the game will inevitably be censored in a whole lot of other ways is silly as well. People got too upset about a video game butt. People got too upset about it being changed. Not everyone, just some people. I'm not going to say that either side is wrong because if that's how they feel then whatever, just that both sides have people that went about expressing it in the wrong ways and that it's ultimately become a bigger deal than it needed to be.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/5dKg33L.png[/t]
That's not even sexual, it's just kind of a girly pose
[t]http://i.imgur.com/5dKg33L.png[/t]
Holy fucking shit how dare a human have a butt. brb canceling my preorder.
how dare she acknowledge her powerful running musculature I won't stand for this [editline]e[/editline] mostly because it's hard to stand on my bed
This is what we call 'pandering'
This is so fucking stupid. I really want to play this game, but now I don't think I'll be buying it. I don't want to support a developer that bends over backwards for one fucking person that got their feelings hurt.
This is so fucking stupid. I really want to play this game, but now I don't think I'll be buying it. I don't want to support a developer that bends over backwards for one fucking person that got their feelings hurt.
This post is as dumb as the one complaining about the pose. It's fucking stupid that they removed it because someone's feelers were hurt, but your whining is just as annoying as theirs.
That's not even sexual, it's just kind of a girly pose
women posing is inherently sexual, obviously.
Overwatch is a tf-girl-ass simulator. And theres nothing wrong with it since mgs is an man-ass simulator.
I kinda agree that the Tracer pose doesn't really match her character, and it's on-the-nose and kinda lazy. But I really don't think it's offensive or anything and I don't really care that they're gonna change it. It's a total non-issue either way as far as I'm concerned. At the end of the day its either a video game character in a sexy pose (who cares?) and it's Blizzards' choice if they want to change it (who cares?).
I don't really care about the pose being removed, but I don't really get how it's a sexy pose. It seems like a pretty typical video gamey/movie pose for a character holding guns from behind, regardless of a male or a female character. Like I see this pose all over the place anyway, I don't really associate it as something "sexy". The only thing which makes it like it is the model in the first place (which they changed, but I haven't seen how they have changed it). The pose is literally as generic as possible. (Googling "holding gun pose" is great too, you get a bunch of people in underwear doing gun poses as references)
she has clothing which defines her butt which women totally never wear in real life ever [editline]28th March 2016[/editline] yoga pants are just a myth
she has clothing which defines her butt which women totally never wear in real life ever [editline]28th March 2016[/editline] yoga pants are just a myth
that is kind of a funny part, the guy had no complaints about the outfit, just the pose. Like dang the spandex was practical by all means, but my pants involuntarily tore at the seams when she shifted weight on her hips
while we are on the topic, anyone else realize tracer's outfit is inheriently sexist? those skin-tight leggings and everything, only whores wear that my solution is a new outfit that gives her a light cloth outfit that covers her entire body, ensuring theres no curves for no infidels to oogle. here's my first concept design, blizzard please implement so we can have proper representation in video gaming. My take on this: The people complaining about her butt are the ones who should be blamed. Why? Because I'm PRETTY fucking sure nobody would give a fuck about it if it weren't for them. aka the Streisand effect
Wait stop don't look at those those don't back up my agenda.
legendary god feminist anita tells me these are okay because strategic butt coverings those AAA devs not letting me see beautiful glutes, it's the illuminati's fault.

Feel free to argue about whether sexy poses are out of place or suitable or whatever, but purely from an artistic perspective I'd definitely say Tracer's uses common "sexy pose" composition tropes. I'm not here to pass judgment on that, but I felt the need to point it out.
I think there's a fair amount of overreaction about one persons opinion. The person in the original post is damn well allowed to feel this way, and to point it out to the devs. I don't get is the ruckus surrounding Blizzards decision to listen to that person. They listen to community feedback, and it doesn't detriment the game at all! I get that this draws parallels to the whole SJW subculture, but this really isn't in any way the same sort of extremism. The post was a small and reasonable piece of constructive criticism. Reasonable because the person had a solid reason for the critique. Censoring everything in games isn't cool, but getting angry at someone for coming with critique that relates to the subject of sex isn't cool either, especially when done in such a proper manner.

They sure don't seem to be listening to the community feedback telling them that this was an unnecessary change.

They sure don't seem to be listening to the community feedback telling them that this was an unnecessary change.
You see, Blizzard suddenly has to take sides after doing this one minor change that caused an unexpected backlash. I won't pretend to know what their thoughts on that is but: - They might think that people will forget about it in 2 days. - They're not changing it back because that might lead to another backlash.
overwatch is a CHRISTIAN game thank you [editline]28th March 2016[/editline] is 4chan gonna "boycott" this one too
Reminds me of when Grind Gear Games (Path of Exile) caved into someone's complaints about statues of women in the HUD and removed them from it.
If they're not changing it back I'd like to at least see some sort of an apology or at the very least an aknowledgement of the shitstorm they crated, rather than going "m-maybe if we just don't say anything it'll die out and we won't have to face any consequences whatsoever"
Why would they have to apologize about the meaningless change they made to their own game? The shitstorm was very much created by the touchy community. I think their best course of action is to stay quiet about it, because this will die out and they will face no consequences.
Why would they have to apologize about the meaningless change they made to their own game? The shitstorm was very much created by the touchy community. I think their best course of action is to stay quiet about it, because this will die out and they will face no consequences.
They shouldn't have to apologize for their thoughtlessness when changing something that a seemingly great amount of people feel is an unnecessary change or a bad one on principle alone? Why, because it's a minor change or one that you agree with? It's a slippery slope. Sure, it's minor this time, but look at how easily the devs were manipulated by these morons. What's next?
I just watched all the poses. Now, I don't care much about the game, but let me get this straight. They're removing the pose because it conflicts with her character, supposedly, and that it portrays her as a mere sex symbol. So what? Widowmaker makes a practically identical pose, and I don't see people crying about that. But that's okay because she supposedly embraces her sexuality. Or am I getting this wrong? This is totally blown over and a silly overreaction.

What's next?
They shouldn't have to apologize because they didn't intend to upset anyone, in fact they did this because they believed it would make less people upset. They can't change it back because then they're visibly taking sides in a conflict, which they obviously don't want. Trying not to upset anyone in such a huge playerbase is a pretty tough balancing act. I understand what you mean with the slippery slope thing, but this is seriously quite minor and I strongly doubt it'll evolve into further censoring of the game. Only time will tell. [editline]o[/editline]
Why, because it's a minor change or one that you agree with?
I don't feel strongly either way about the change. I wouldn't have noticed if it hadn't been changed, and I wouldn't have noticed the removal. What I did notice, however, was this thread. And my opinion is: - I think people are overreacting. - I think people are being unfair towards the person who typed the original post, and is now being ridiculed for their fairly presented opinion. - I think people are being unfair towards the devs at Blizzard who did not expect a backlash from such a minor change, and are now the centre of a conflict with no good way of getting out without upsetting people.
"If people who cared about this didn't exist then nobody would care about this! How about THAT!" what are you even on about
Here, I'll explain... People suddenly think this is an "issue" (calling it an issue is an overstatement really), and will most likely get attention because of said people who probably faint from seeing a girl's ass slightly popping out a bit too much on the streets. This in turn, makes people rage and suddenly make this to be this HUGE thing, which it isn't. (ass pun not intended) It also makes them the people who are to be blamed for it, because they are the ones openly sexualizing it by assuming "its totally the generic sexualization of women". Most likely no one would ever have a problem about it or even think about it in such a way, and just play the damn game, excluding people who would go "wow, thats a tight ass" and daydream/fanfic about her, but if you have a problem with that, I just gotta ask: "are you that anal about character design, that in no way can any character ever look good or the least bit "sexy"?" Because by that logic, you should just enact a rule to medicate all the population in the world to drive libidos to the ground, so that no one ever thinks about someone else's well shaped bosoms or butt in a lusty way. I mean, I'd get it if she was stripping down or being just plain eye candy just for the sake of it, but thats not the case. It's a goddamn womanly pose ffs. Do women in video games now have to be mega-butch about it? Oh wait no, that might mean the manly pose is some sort of subliminal patriarchy message that makes them act more like men, because of some sort of stupid shit like "why the hell not, we are men and we are best gender". Or maybe, just make her a genderless character and void her completely of any characteristic, because I'm dead sure someone will take offense.
