Everyone you rescue in that game is a failed attempt to make a gameplay object look like a real person, and they all fail. I guess Citra has that twist ending but rescuing her is still something the player doesn't need to be convinced to do. It's an objective, a lot of people do those things without even thinking about them. A linear game will be completed, or at least attempted, regadless of the motivation provided because a motivation is already there. Technically the object doesn't need to exist in any particular form, it just needs to be a key to progress.

The only valid thing was the was the starfox shit which was pretty cringy, but she got it wrong. You dont only play as Krystal, you also have a male protagonist called Sabre who was the brother. So when she fucks up facts its kind of hard to take her seriously.
