Developed from birth. The reason you don't 'find out' till later is because we're taught that heterosexuality is normal, therefore we all think we're hetro. Its only when you begin to release you have no sexual interest in the opposite sex that you begin to establish a sexual preference and therefore sexuality.

I don't believe that it works that way for everyone in all cases. Seems to me that something like that could certainly be influenced from birth by genetics or any number of other biological factors, but it isn't absolutely determined.

No one really has any sexual interest towards any one until you hit adolescence really.
I love how everyone replied to my posts that were answered twice before, five more times. Using practically the same arguments. GOOD JOB! Oh and the person who said not to talk about biology, i accept I'm not that good at biology and relative to others you aren't either :). Oh and i believe your point was basically homosexuals don't reproduce which saves resources as an extra human takes up a lot of resources.
I think that gays helping overpopulation, or as the anti-gay crowd moans, "will kill off the species by not having children", is of virtually no significance.

I'd actually say that it's a plus, since many of them adopt children where it's allowed.
Nothing wrong with being gay. I just think it's funny that they all act the same. For example: I was just a Sea World and getting ready to get on the Manta and two gays were in front of me. They both acted EXACTLY the same as each other and acted the same as my uncle. (No he doesn't touch me.)

'They' don't all act the same, you only notice the flamboyant ones.

You're not very good at this debating thing.

The funny thing is, by some weird fluke, I have 4 gay friends who are all incredibly different. Would you believe it? 4 people who act differently.
Crazy.

The scientific answer is "need more data to really say."
The intuitive answer is "proven link with birth order + proven chemical mechanisms for causing it in animals + mechanisms that apply to humans + probable causes in other animals = probably an evolutionary cause in people too." It might not be that particular cause, but it's hard to argue it doesn't have one, and that's a pretty damn strong suggestion. Then again, that's assuming you read the paper. I think the reasoning is pretty damn sound, but maybe you heard the story of the sacred band of thebes and how dolphins do it and you think homosexuality exists to improve morale.
Oh and the person who said not to talk about biology, i accept I'm not that good at biology and relative to others you aren't either :).
Is this supposed to defend the fact that you're blatantly wrong on the "homosexuality has no purpose for the species" point? You're just wrong, sorry. Read what I posted and research the topic a bit, I don't care how "good" you are at bio, just how good you are at knowing what words mean.
Also, regarding the "it's not genetic" point, that's just wrong. Period. We're not actually sure at the moment. There's support for it being genetic, though, and quite a lot of it. It's much more scientifically sound to say it has indisputable "genetic and/or environmental factors" in prenatal development.
Oh and i believe your point was basically homosexuals don't reproduce which saves resources as an extra human takes up a lot of resources.
Uh...if you want to be really, really simplistic and kinda miss half the point, sure.
Why don't you go back and read that paper and some of the ones I'm posting this time, and then maybe you'll suck a little less at bio and learn about homosexuality?
I love how everyone replied to my posts that were answered twice before, five more times. Using practically the same arguments. GOOD JOB! How does not making children take up resources? I'm pretty sure non-existent children don't eat.
Slothman had a fine opinion up until he said, "Homosexuality is wrong and should be fixed with counseling". Rather than say, "Homosexuality isn't the norm and I believe it might be able to be fixed with counseling but is by no means necessary".

I was thinking more along the lines of "who gives a shit about whether or not it affects overpopulation", but you got me thinking. I'd never considered that the birth order link (which I was aware of) implied an evolutionary purpose.

You fool, don't you see?
For every non-existent child, we need to feed with non-existent food, but it's hard to feed these non-people when every day we grow food that shouldn't even exist to feed people already born!
It is amazing at all that all these non-existent people can find housing, which is disappearing at an alarming rate; for every house built, one non-existent house disappears, leaving a non-existent family non-existentially homeless.
We could tear down houses that no one lives in, or not build houses at all, but whatever our plan is, it needs to be funded with non-existent taxpayer money, a whole nothing of people are going to need to not pay any money into this horrid negative-existence world.
This huge-ass mess is why I stay away from politics.

Oh God. But seeing how high our existent population is, I think the non-existent population must be at an all time low. I suggest mass executions and sterilizations, until the non-existent population rises back to a safe level.

Funny. My uncle is gay too and he doesn't act like the "typical" gay person and he's like the coolest person I know :v:
Oh and the last part of your post counts here too.

I'm a skinhead, I'm a believer of function over form, I fucking hate flamboyant people, no matter their sexuality, so all gays are skinheads?
It's impossible to be born gay.
You're not born puffing penis.
Same as you're not born eating pussy.
you don't have to have sex to be gay or straight dummy; that's not what orientation means
My thoughts on gay people.
No one chooses to be gay. You are either gay or you arn't, you can't control it. However, the feelings, emotions and needs of gay people are the exact same as heterosexuals.
They deserve every single right heterosexuals receive. Marriage and adoption, the whole works.
Why shouldn't they? All I hear as an excuse for depriving them of their rights is "It isn't natural"
How can something that statistically occurs in 1/10th of the worlds population be considered unnatural?
you don't have to have sex to be gay or straight dummy; that's not what orientation means
Don't think you can really say you're born that either, though.

Only logical explanation is you are born either gay or straight.

You're not born gay.

Sexual attraction is hormone-fueled.
please dont follow that up by saying that sexual orientation is determined by hormones because that is totally wrong
I dont have any problem with gays. I dont know why people do.
