Culture. Religion. Mean.
To be honest it all boils down to religion, and it having effects on culture.
Tell me.
Were you thinking about dick when you were 2 years old?
You're not born gay.
your ideas are awful and completely unsupported, you are implying that actions define sexuality and not body chemistry/genetics, without any form of proof and rather just your rash opinions based on fallacy that implies sexuality depends on actions
To be honest it all boils down to religion, and it having effects on culture.
religion is simply the excuse by which to be hateful
Absolutely nothing.

Sexual attraction is hormone-fueled.
This.
You don't start thinking about sexual relations and stuff of the sort until adolescence. It's all hormones as well as biological evidence. I can't find it now, but there was a gay psychologist who studied the brains of straight men/women and gay men/women. He found out that some part of the brain, I forgot exactly what it was, has a difference in size. In straight males and gay women, its the same size as each other. In straight women and gay men, it was smaller to straight men/gay women but it was the same size compared to gay men/straight women.
Nothing wrong with being gay. I just think it's funny that they all act the same. For example: I was just a Sea World and getting ready to get on the Manta and two gays were in front of me. They both acted EXACTLY the same as each other and acted the same as my uncle. (No he doesn't touch me.)
so

ok.
Tell me.

people are born either straight or gay. They only start acting on it when the hormones kick in. Before that you can't tell the difference.
I'd say it develops over time.
i think it develops really fast when you first look at porn.
people are born either straight or gay. They only start acting on it when the hormones kick in. Before that you can't tell the difference.
Well there's a spectrum, it's not just 'gay' or 'straight'.
i think it develops really fast when you first look at porn.
It 'developed' for me before looking at porn. I.E. Not having an internet connection until 3/4 years later.
It 'developed' for me before looking at porn. I.E. Not having an internet connection until 3/4 years later.
And some people never even look at porn and they still develop it. In fact, that's how it's always been before the internet was invented. (although before the Internet was even thought of gays were highly frowned upon. In my opinion, they shouldn't be treated as well as they are, but not like animals either)
EDIT: Before you ask, yes I am aware that porn existed before the Internet. And nudity, in general. I'm not that stupid.
although before the Internet was even thought of gays were highly frowned upon. In my opinion, they shouldn't be treated as well as they are, but not like animals either
firstly, there have been times in history where nobody cared if people were gay
secondly, what?
[editline]23rd December 2011[/editline]
unless you plan to explain why you think gay people should be treated badly you have no place in this thread

i'll build onto your point and say that blackmuffin should not post like he did in here because stating an extreme opinion without any reason why or proof to support a reason why is not debating

Gays were highly frowned upon before the Internet? The Ancient Greeks would like to have a word with you. And why should they be treated badly (but not as bad as animals)?
"they shouldn't be treated as well as they are"
Nothing wrong with that opinion in itself, despite his failure to provide his reasons for having it. Wouldn't even be all that difficult to argue, though that depends entirely on the context.
Nothing wrong with that opinion in itself, despite his failure to provide his reasons for having it. Wouldn't even be all that difficult to argue, though that depends entirely on the context.
Nearly every basis for arguing that opinion would be factually flawed or easily disproven. If you can think of a way to do it soundly, I'd be glad to hear it.

Wow, what the fuck is wrong with you? I'm a person just like you, why the fuck should I be treated as a lesser person compared to the heterosexual part of the world? You should be treated like an animal just because of what you said. Christ almighty.

this is as bad as what blackmuffin said, just because he said his opinion does that mean that he should be treated as an animal?
I don't see anything wrong with them. They're people just like you and I.

First off I'd like to point out
arguing

opinion

factually flawed or easily disproven
but that's a problem with this entire thread, or the entire section.
This is likely not the way he meant it, but that's a defendable opinion because in some places, gays actually get to the point of being treated better than others, mostly so people can prove they're okay with them, or they just like pretending to be progressive. This results in a lot of generalizations and preconceptions, which are still bad, even if they come about through what most would call good intentions. This is why it depends on context. If he had said that about a region in which people are treated roughly the same, I would disagree, and it would be very hard to find good reasoning for that. Same goes if you want to make it about the world as a whole, but there are situations in which that is an acceptable, justifiable opinion to have.

and you could try calming down just a bit. I don't understand how people get to being so offended and angered by so little.

that's pretty easy to say when you aren't in a position of persecution. If someone told me to calm down because someone else said Jews shouldn't be treated equally, I probably wouldn't calm down.
gays are genetically different from normal humans - they should not be treated equally

being jewish is a choice, being gay is a genetic mutation
I'm a person raised a by homophobes - my parents, teachers and the kids around me, while I may still be considered and called homophobic, that's not how I will raise my children, and they'll learn that everyone is equal. Me? I'm far too impregnated with constant propaganda to view homosexuality as something normal. I'm not proud of that, but I know how to keep my mouth shut, so I won't be shouting anti-homosexual propaganda, my hands to myself, so I won't be a part of any lynch-mob or a group beating up innocent people, and nor would I participate in any vote against homosexual marriage, so I can't even consider myself a threat against gays. But hey - even for having such a view point I guess I'm the anti-christ for you guys.

can you prove that it is a genetic mutation? can you? and if it is okay to discriminate based on genes, is it okay to discriminate against redheads? Their hair color is determined by a genetic "mutation".
not really a choice, I don't worship any god, I'm an atheist but I still get shit for being from a Jewish family, something I had no choice in
gays are genetically different from normal humans - they should not be treated equally
You've no way to prove that theory, and even if it is, the only thing it affects is sexual orentation, so the only situation that we should be treated differently is if you want to fuck us, which you've made quite clear you would not.
this is 100 percent not true dude. even if occasionally someone is, like, overly nice to a gay person (ghastly) in the vast majority of places they still lack most a number of things that they deserve, such as protection from housing and employment discrimination and the right to marry.
saying "gays need to be treated worse" (a thing that dude said) will never, ever be a justifiable opinion.

oh cry me a river. i respect you for not propagating hatred, but you're making it sound like disliking gays is something that's impossible to overcome. it's actually something that's wicked easy to overcome, you just have to stop doing it. i dunno, read up on some civil rights history or take a minority issues class or something.
the only thing that's keeping you from advancing your views is the "I've been filled with propaganda my whole life" mentality that you're using to justify your beliefs. it's actually something you totally can overcome with just a small amount of concerted effort on your part.

I think he's implying that gays are being unfairly treated better than everyone else, fear of the "political correctness" bogeyman and all.
