Well actually, we sort-of do know that. I don't have them off-hand (I'll have to go find 'em some time) but I seem to recall various medical studies showing that miss-sized glands are a strong indicator of homosexuality, or otherwise non-heterosexuality.
Still ain't a fact. I personally believe that genetics, hormones, environment, and active choice are all part responsible in various amounts and that it varies between individuals. But the point is that it is still unknown exactly what triggers sexual orientation. It's actually one of the major unsolved problems in biology. So we shouldn't assume too much.

There can be very much wrong with a homosexual person to the point where the person is despicable.
And that goes for others too.

honestly, I find the implication offensive. I don't think there is any difference. Homosexuality is purely psychological. I think perhaps it is too early to accurately test these things, for a variety of reasons.
it may not ever be possible, due to the nature of homosexuality. simply because some of these people don't have these traits, they can't be called biological differences specific to homosexuals.
You're wrong, because with twins, if one of them is gay, the other has a 25% chance of being gay also, WHILE IN THE WOMB.

Ehh.. wait what?
I find overly flamboyant gays annoying as nails on a chalkboard but I'm perfectly fine with homosexuality/homosexuals. If a girl or a straight guy acted the same way I'd hate them just the same amount, should the annoyingly flamboyant gays get some special free-pass to be obnoxious and strip us of our right to be annoyed by the way they act?
TLDR: I'm for gay marriage and I'm a big supporter of gay rights but I find the overly flamboyant types obnoxious and annoying. Am I actually a closeted bigot?

no but you keep saying overly flamboyant like you have something to prove. Flamboyance has nothing to do with sexuality so bringing it up is a non-issue which is a waste of time

sorry guys, but this^
I'm gay but I really can't stand them loud types as a whole. I have nothing against the individual who's that way (I love everybody regardless of how they act), just the level of obnoxiousness that type of guy caries with him is too much for me. Even the effeminate guys, trying to be girly D: You'd know me for 10 years and still not piece it together that I'm gay, I'm a MAN. Who likes MEN. Not MEN who want to be WOMEN. If I wanted to date a girl I would, but I don't, so stop trying to be girls

makes me want to die.
The fact of the matter is as annoying as they are, that has absolutely nothing to do with their sexuality or gender and everything to do with who they are as a person. If that person was any other gender or sexual orientation, I'd still probably find them irreconcilably annoying. It's misleading to say "Well I don't like those loudmouth/obnoxiously girly gays..." when in reality, it makes more sense to say that you don't like loudmouthed, obnoxious, and overly effeminate people.
So.. it's wrong and stupid to hate on gays, but it's not wrong to hate gays who act flamboyant or effeminate?
Then we haven't solved anything!

this is what I've kept saying throughout the thread but noone seems to get it. The only real reason that you associate them as 'obnoxious gays' instead of 'obnoxious people' is because you still single out sexuality as a defining character trait

I keep good by not hating anyone. I can't remember the last time I looked at someone and just seeing them made me mad
I don't give a damn what the bible says about them, I just find it hard to accept two dudes bumping uglies. I'd rather see a gay by themselves than with a partner, just because for whatever reason I'm a bit uncomfortable with it when they start kissing. I don't mean to have bias, I'm just not used to it and it kind of irks me. However, I have nothing against it.
I don't like it when gays also give you an attitude because they're gay and they just have to let everyone know it, I think that they hype it a bit much sometimes and that gets on people's nerves. I'm already accepting of them, so they don't have to have a big head about it.
All in all, I'm just a bit uncomfortable when they have a public display of affection, but at the same time I'm accepting.

A better question is "Why are there people who hate others for being gay"
This thread's question is kind of rhetorical: nothing...

Aren't you just as uncomfortable when straight people are making out next to you? And isn't it annoying when bros/chavs discuss how many bitches thy fucked the night before?
You shouldn't associate the behavior to the sexuality but rather the individual.
Nothing.

Not to nitpick but doesn't everything about you count as a defining character trait?
I'm already accepting of them, so they don't have to have a big head about it.
Yeah, not really.
"I don't care if you're gay. Just never mention it and don't show it in any way." is not very accepting..
Look, the problem is that everyone assumes you are 100 % straight from the get go.
You have to say or show otherwise for people to catch on.
But suppressing it works better for you, so I guess that's better...
Not to nitpick but doesn't everything about you count as a defining character trait?
If you define "character" extremely broadly, to the point where you've made it meaningless by defining it as "all observable behavior", then yes.
Most of us define a person's character as the things beyond their more simplistic traits. What sex you're into means little, it just adds a simple filter to other stuff you do. What you do with your sexual preference might define you as a person, but the sexual preference itself is as defining a character trait as lactose intolerance is.

Actually, I'll have to agree with Juice to a certain degree (without knowing what he's stated as his opinion outside of that post).
Here's the way I think about it:
Why do you need to announce your sexuality? Why do people need to know your sexuality at all, strait or gay? It shouldn't (mind you, I say "shouldn't" and not "won't") affect the way people judge you, so it shouldn't be necessary to announce it. I'm not saying you have to hide it, but you certainly don't need to show it off like you're proud that you screw a certain gender.
TBH, thats the way I think people need to go about thinking about it. Let gays be gays, straits be straits, and what not. Just don't let anyone screw animals.
Also, I'm not going to say gay people are the only people who flaunt their sexuality. If anything, there are as many, if not more strait people who like to let everyone know about it.
*cough* *cough*
Why do you need to announce your sexuality?
Because everyone assumes you're straight. Imagine if as a guy, everone you met always thought you were a girl and treated you like one. And you were too scared to say they were wrong. You'd get fed up. You would probably start acting and dressing more masculine so just maybe people would get the hint. And when that didn't work you would be like fuck it and say "Shut up, I'm a guy, alright?".
And people would be like:
"Whatever, just keep it to yourself and stop being so proud of it."
And you would be like:
"What the fuck.."

You can't really compare mistaken sexuality to mistaken gender.
I just did. It's about being taken for what you really aren't.
Dicks are made to enter a womans vagina, not a man's butthole. If dicks were intended to enter butt holes than everyone's ass would also have a womb.
Gays are an affront to human nature.
