It's a good game, but it doesn't feel like a Battlefront title at all. You can't just reduce it like that. There aren't space battles. You can't choose your CP. There's no prequel era stuff (not everybody hates the prequels 100%). It's fun, but seamless ground to space transitions and more of a focus on instant action was the kind of thing I was hoping for with DICE's title.
It's not a bad game, like I said, it just doesn't feel like a Battlefront title. I'll still probably buy it.
wow the first person ive seen on this site to provide a reasonable argument that isn't 'lol the gunplay looks like shit WTF I CANT see the tie fighters on the map (which would make 0 sense if you could) lmao battlefield: star warz'
As much as those are sorely missed features, the game itself looks hella good, and people bitching are just bitching through their heavily rose tinted goggles
The gunplay of a 2015 game is better than that of a decade old game on decades old hardware? Whoa?!
so instead we should compare it to games that are made now that are based in reality, and not in star wars's universe with pre-set laws for their weapons and what have you???
this is where all your guys's arguments fall apart, you moan and moan about how it's not like the old games, yet when comparisons are drawn and people say 'yeah but some parts are way better' you go 'the games are old you can't say that!!!'
like the hate against this game is hilariously pathetic and i cant wait to see how well the game ends up doing, and how probably 6~ months after launch people are gonna be totally fine with it and say it's all cool.
Well that's up to the developers now isn't it? The game is fine on its own. It's similar to the originals (which I played) the game play is just a bit modernized, which imo there's nothing wrong with that. It feels good to play and from what I saw in the beta it's overall fun despite the changes.
uhh no?
The developers have nothing to do with what any individual fan wanted from the sequel.

More like it will be Titanfall where the servers drop fast in player population from shallow content and lack of depth in gameplay elements for a 2015 AAA title.
And Titanfall had the parkour/titan gameplay to atleast be different. I can't imagine this game lasting long for most people.
I really don't understand how anything other than nostalgia can make the new Battlefront look worse than this.

Nobody is arguing looks, it is the potential gameplay.
This makes me seriously depressed for two reasons.
1 - This game, which was 85% done was dropped, yet Star Wars Kinect got the green light.
2 - No chance for a Timesplitters 4.
Seriously, fuck the management behind Lucas Arts.
I'm offended the most because 2015 battlefront doesn't have a single player campaign. That decision was so dumb I couldn't believe it when I read about it
And I mean a proper SP campaign, not offline bot deathmatch
A part of me really wishes someone just made an Arma 3 total conversion mod that added Star Wars shit. That'd be fantastic if it was ever done.

The maps I've lost... The gameplay I've lost... It won't stop hurting

My Visual Concept teacher was the art director on his title. He wasn't allowed to show us anything for obvious legal reasons nor could he tell us why it got canned, but he talked this up so hard. He said it was one of the most exciting games to play and that he thought at the time it would be the next big shooter. When he watched the new Battlefront game play he was so disappointing because he had put so much effort into this one and it just got canned.
this is actually my problem with Battlefront 3. All they needed to do was to make a reskinned Battlefield then maybe it would've been fun. You know at least Battlefield had classes, vehicles that don't explode when you get off them and bigger maps.
TBH I don't enjoy Battlefield because of how vehicle based it is on many maps. I prefer more classic FPS games and Battlefront seems closer to that.
It looks like an insanely ambitious game but also potentially incredible with the dual space-land theatre. I would have preferred this to what we got with DICE's take to be honest
Yeah it looks like shit in some departments (e.g gunplay) but does it look like a finished game, or even the final concept of the game? No. We'll never know whether the team working on it actually would have produced something that would have had as great promise as is hinted at in the leaked stuff
This looks way more fun
Now this actually looks like a Battlefront game and not some generic meat-head shooter game with Star Wars painted over it.

Man, fuck battlefront 3 just give me this.
EA can easily make this like the original, but they realize that people will buy DLC.

When has DICE ever made a good Single Player outside of Bad Company?
When has DICE ever made a good Single Player outside of Bad Company?
Do people think the singleplayers of recent battlefields are really that bad? Sure, they're generic as all hell, but the setpieces are often very pretty, if nothing else.
Basically, I don't think they're horrible, but they're not anything to hit home about, either.
