i didn't
when i was a kid I drew decapitated zombies with tentacles coming out of their wounds and skulls
there was a period when i was around 12 were I watched a few episodes of Bleach and made some shitty fan art but I burned that in a bon fire surrounded by Obsidian dust and goat's blood, so I'm good

The thing is, I realized.
Anime is fun to draw, but there is a point where it's just not challenging enough.
And honestly, any genre can look nice including anime, if done correctly and approached by fitting audience.
The point of this thread should be geared towards those not done correctly even with the fitting audience, and not vice versa.
In the later case, it's just rude.

Well, we could do that, but that's not what this thread is about. This thread is for bitching and laughing.
As for me, thing is by the time I was 14 I didn't want to draw things that looked cute or sexy or any of that shit. At that time I started developing a seething hatred for the human race that continues on to this day, and as such I want to make things that are as disturbing as possible. I see art as a way to punch people in the soul and have fun doing it. So I never got into drawing anime, because either I could do it that fakey way that Detlef did it where everything is all flat and the characters are make of boxes and toilet tubes, or I could do it the proper way and actually learn how to draw people.
And if I'm going to learn to draw people I'm going to make them look as real as I can, damnit. It's more disturbing that way when they start spouting wires from their eye sockets and corrugated tin from their throats.
