I think that the thing on the right is called a "doll". People on DA draw them by the dozens. The purpose of them is so that people with absolutely no talent who don't know how to draw the human figure can just draw on the hair and clothing and feel talented.
But then the moron didn't even get that, because they included the doll in the picture. That's a double fail.

Dolls are the thing that pisses me off the most about DA, shitty furry pictures aside I find most pictures of dolls are traced anime pictures with no credit given to the author of the original picture at all.
Which pisses me off even more because it's piss easy to find the original.

Loads of subscribers + Cute looking stuff = Front page all day every day.
Also, taking a close look at the pictures rather than just the thumbnails show how little effort is put into the pictures, they look unfinished. Though I suppose that as long as something looks good thumb nailed then most DA users will just favorite it without looking at the full sized image.

They look finished to me. There is something called "having a style" and this is most certainly a style and not lazyness. It gives a good fluffy effect and focus on what actually matters when making cute stuff, the eyes.
Sure, the artist has stagnated on cats and loves to do them and everyone jerk wanks him for that. But really? So what? That's his thing, that's what he likes to do.
This is not an example of a person that just sucks and makes bad artwork. This is an example of "I don't like this and he gets famous for it, waaah".

They don't make works that is of great interest for the main branch of DA users. You know, the ones that are really active, posts in forums and comments all day long and generally live there and keeps the site up for real.
It is also "the great artist"s fault for not advertising themselves, getting themselves known. Hundreds of works are being uploaded every minute.
