There's actually a purpose to black and white photography and there are reasons why photographers sometimes choose it over color. If you think that having that photo in black and white is pure pretension, I would think you're being a little ridiculous. Granted, a lot of the "artistic nudes" on DA are just prettied up softcore porn, but that doesn't mean that all artsy photographs of models are bullshit.
