I honestly don't get the whole Tim Burton obssession with them kids nowadays. Is it because people look at that and think, "Ok, well, I guess all his stuff looks artsy, so I'll say that I love him and his movies are awesome to seem cool," or is it that all the emo people look at it and are like, "Holy shit, this is so emo. I want to ejaculate on Johnny Depp's crazy Mad Hatter face."? Seriously. Nightmare Before Christmas was kinda cool, Sleepy Hollow was alright, but Sweeney Todd? Edward Scissorhands? And now Johnny Depp looking like an emo kid's wet dream? Holy PISS. EDIT: AND Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He was like Michael Jackson(rip) on gay steroids.
i'm perplexed by your statements. it seems to you that he lacks variety, but it's because of his abilities to play so many weird as fuck roles that Burton loves Johnny Depp [editline]10:31AM[/editline] i mean really Sleepy Hollow Edward Scissorhands Sweeney Todd Ed Wood Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and those are just the Burton films where Johnny Depp plays an odd role
Holy shit i've totally forgotten about that movie. Thanks for reminding :D For the Alice movie, I like how the characters look. I just hope it's not going to be a childrens movie like Charlie and the chocolate factory. I am also waiting for a trailer.
I saw a poster a few months ago in creationism corner. Shit is trippin balls. I'm thinking it will be as awesome as it looks.
Can't wait to watch this while high. :350:
Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter? Fuck this.

Sure, you don't like him. Why the hell does everyone else have to fall in categories like that? He IS artsy. He IS dark. That doesn't make it attractive to Emo's anymore than anyone else. Grow the fuck up rather than being this arrogant little prick you are now. Honestly, all the posts about Emo's on this forum are getting disgusting just because they all say the same damn thing over and over and over again. You're no better than them at that rate. Fuck.
This is being based off Alice? Shit this is going to be one fucked up tim burton movie. ONE FUCKED UP MOVIE.
I thought the Mad Hatter was just a guy with a top hat who drank tea, not a child rapist.
they better make this fucking trippy as hell after all the whole alice in wonderland story is based off of fucking cocaine
I heard a rumor that Lewis Carol or whoever wrote it was high when he thought of it, and based Alice off of the kiddy he was fiddling.
Helena Bonham Carter And she looks freaky as hell
No, she's the Red Queen, the guy was asking about the queen of hearts. Two different people, Red Queen is the evil chess lady, queen of hearts is the mostly crazy, not quite evil, card lady.
I heard a rumor that Lewis Carol or whoever wrote it was high when he thought of it, and based Alice off of the kiddy he was fiddling.
people usually don't believe me when I say Alice in Wonderland is the farthest thing from a kids story and that the author was totally baked/stoned when he wrote it. Ever heard the song "Puff the Magic Dragon"? Kid's song, learned it in kindergarten. It's also a song about marijuana and the kid gets sad when the marijuana goes away :(
I heard a rumor that Lewis Carol or whoever wrote it was high when he thought of it, and based Alice off of the kiddy he was fiddling.
He had epilepsy and took copious amounts of LSD.
I heard a rumor that Lewis Carol or whoever wrote it was high when he thought of it, and based Alice off of the kiddy he was fiddling.
FUCKING ASS! HE WASN'T ON FUCKING DRUGS. THERE IS NO REFERENCE IN HIS HISTORY TO DRUG WHATSOEVER. JESUS. THESE RUMOURS ARE FUCKING RETARDED, SPREAD BY POTHEADS WHO THINK JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING IS A LITTLE ODD IT HAS TO DO WITH DRUGS. FUCK. He told the story, then wrote it down for a little girl he may or may not have had a crush on, he wasn't fiddling her, but he did take photographs of her occasionaly, like this one: The only reason he wrote it down is because she begged him to do so. And he wasn't on fucking drugs.
I've seen Mia Wasikowska in 'In Treatment', she's a pretty good actress. I really hope this movie is good.
This is being based off Alice?
No, that's a seperate project by another director altogether.
No, that's a seperate project by another director altogether.
Oh. If tim burton directed THAT the movie would be SO FUCKED UP.

Martin Short as the Mad Hatter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vwi9Yn2aF4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZmktVFsCXE Gah, no embedding. Just click on it. Since it's by Tim Burton then it's obviously going to be good. I have yet to see a Burton movie i didn't like.
He was... It's a well documented fact he took LSD while suffering from epilepsy(As so found by his autopsy.).
If it's well documented, cite me two sources.
If it's well documented, cite me two sources.
not so sure about the LSD but he did take cannabis and opium or they were VERY heavy influences for his books/poems if he did not
not so sure about the LSD but he did take cannabis and opium or they were VERY heavy influences for his books/poems if he did not
Again, sources. NOWHERE does it say that he used drugs. NOWHERE. The only people who seem to think so are potheads, and other drug users who find the movie and books "Trippy" It's a nonsense story, it was written to be odd and crazy. He told it when he was on a boat trip with children for god sakes. Prove me wrong, with some sources, and I'll believe you. Until then. You guys are fucking retarded if you think he did drugs. Peculiar stories do NOT necessitate drugs.

Why on earth would there be a movie on Lewis Carrol himself coming out that focuses around that aspect of his life if it was all just heresy? [editline]10:24PM[/editline]
If it's well documented, cite me two sources.
Uh, his autopsy for one.
Burden of proof is on you for your story. He DID have epilepsy. He most likely did take LSD.
I didn't disagree with the epilepsy thing. And the burden of proof is on you, is it not, for claiming he did drugs in the first place?
Not quite. If you actually read his stories, they are not just INFLUENCED by drugs, but by and large metaphors FOR drugs. LSD also stays in your system in some noticeable way that's detectable by an autopsy.
Not quite. If you actually read his stories, they are not just INFLUENCED by drugs, but by and large metaphors FOR drugs. LSD also stays in your system in some noticeable way that's detectable by an autopsy.
Dude, they ARE NOT INFLUENCED OR SYMBOLS OF DRUGS. That is only how ignorant teenagers interpret it. And where the HELL did you see Charles Dodgson's autopsy report?! also, just so you know: "The burden of proof is always on the claim that X exists rather than on the claim that X does not exist. It is a fallacy to claim that X exists unless you prove that there is no X. What is improper is for a person to claim that "X exists" and when asked to prove it the person who made the claim uses as a defense of "X exists" the claim next claim that no one has proven that X does not exist. If a person claims that X exists and is real then the burden is on that person to supply some support for that claim, some evidence or proof that others can and should examine before accepting it. It is incorrect to think that X exists and is real until someone can prove that there is no X. It is also wrong to think that just because you can not prove that X exists that does not mean that X does not exist and therefore X does exist."

Corpse Bride was also one of them, but too weak on the story for me to list it, and he played a normal human being for the most part.
