They are making a real life "Alice in Wonderland" and it's some trippy shit.
check out the game American McGee's Alice. that's what this will be based off of.
it'll most likely be R and filled with violence surely coupled with blood and gore
[editline]10:34PM[/editline]
oh there are more and plenty other Johnny Depp movies that I just love and love his performance in, those are just the Burton flicks. Corpse Bride was also one of them, but too weak on the story for me to list it, and he played a normal human being for the most part.
Nah dude, this isn't the American McGee's Alice movie. That's a seperate project by another director.
I bet the 'scene' kids are going crazy for this.
Lewis Carol never did LSD, nor was Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass based on an LSD trip. How do I know this? Because LSD wasn't first synthesized until about 50 years after he died.
On topic: Why the hell don't they make a movie for Through the Looking Glass? I mean it was a lot better than the first book, IMO.
EDIT: Haha, forgot about my avatar.
I bet the 'scene' kids are going crazy for this.
Again, shut up with this scene shit. Holy fucking ignorant balls.
I honestly don't get the whole Tim Burton obssession with them kids nowadays. Is it because people look at that and think, "Ok, well, I guess all his stuff looks artsy, so I'll say that I love him and his movies are awesome to seem cool," or is it that all the emo people look at it and are like, "Holy shit, this is so emo. I want to ejaculate on Johnny Depp's crazy Mad Hatter face."?
Seriously. Nightmare Before Christmas was kinda cool, Sleepy Hollow was alright, but Sweeney Todd? Edward Scissorhands? And now Johnny Depp looking like an emo kid's wet dream?
Holy PISS.
EDIT:
AND I suck dicks
i'm not emo. though i don't consider myself a fully matured adult, i'd consider myself an adult before i consider myself a kid. i simply happen to like them solely because i always have, it's me, not anyone else that gives me my opinions.
I grew up watching Tim Burton films, and I grew up watching Johnny Depp. Excuse me for liking something I've liked since I was a kid, something good. You can go against the ways of the many simply because you're so "unique". Hey, it's also unique to not breathe, go ahead and stop breathing and start bashing the idea of breathing.

I concede. It is however a fucked up story, albeit one of my favourites.

ah, shame. Well, then, expect PG-13.

because not a whole lot of people under the age of 30 even know there's a second book

It's good. I just didn't like it as much. Nostalgia is probably my problem there. Read the first one too early and loved it ever since, so, who knows.

I love the whole chess game thing.
Actually, both of the books meld together for me, because I read them both one after the other, I have an edition where they are both in one book. I hope the duchess with her super ugly baby is in this movie, that'd be super rad.

also, human abyss, is that a penis in your avatar?

Yeah that's true.
To be honest I'm looking more forward to American McGee's film than to this one, but I'm an Alice in Wonderland fan so I'll end up seeing both of them though.
It better be like that one wierd ass video game. That was awesome.
Alice
And yes. It was AWESOME and would be the best way for this to be made. (Which by the pictures seems to be leaning that way)
Yeah that's true.

I'm most excited about the Marylin Manson film about Dodgeson himself, I think. I mean, American Mcgee's Alice, the movie, is gonna be fucking great, but there hasn't been much info on it yet, so my hopes aren't built up yet.
:350:
there's actually reason to believe that the "Alice" movie(American McGee's) has been canceled, as all of the people originally signed on are no longer signed on, i believe.

According to this post on IMDB, they were filming less than a week ago at SFU in BC. Which is cool, because that's the university I am going to next year possibly for theatre! Radical dude!
I fucking loved American McGee's Alice (game form) Though I have no reason to see it in movie form.
As for this, I think Tim Burton could pull it off.

Strange. I'll probably bump into you there at some point and not know it.
And no, it's a woman with fucked up hips bent over.
I too am very expectant of the new film on Dodgeson, Phantasmorgia. It'll be quite amazing i'm sure.

I think I'm in the literary or humanities department or whatever it's called. Writing screenplays and what not. Going to VFS for more film school shit too.

You don't know a guy named Shawn Marshall do you?
[editline]12:24AM[/editline]
Also, to keep on topic, what's the deal with Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee's face, there's oo much head for how much face he's got.

Can't say that I do, though I'm sure I could have, I tend to forget names fairly often as it is.
It's Tim Burton, it's going to be awesome.
I'll see it.
What's with everyone equating Tim Burton and emo? An artistic style does not mean something is "emo". Emo really SHOULD be referred to as the state of mind of a person that is depressed, although it has stupidly been turned into some dumbass fashion and warped out of context by today's general public. Really it's like mixing scene fashion, goth, and dumbass all into one. BUT GUYS IT'S THE LATEST TREND MAN. GOTTA FIT IN.
I've always thought emo was a stupid term and I generally ignore people when they use it.
Tim Burton / Johnny Depp. It couldn't possibly be anything other than pure win.
Two words: From Hell.
But yeah, everything else with them has been awesome.
[editline]01:43PM[/editline]

He doesn't even look emo. He just has a distinctive style, which happens to be gothic and trippy.
Two words: From Hell.
From Hell is not by Burton :crossarms:
however, wish they wouldn't call it "alice in wonderland" just because of the plot change. i don't know what else they would call it though, so i'll just be quite.
And it's in 3D of course.
there's 2 Alices in Wonderland.
There's the original and the 'sequel' by the same author called 'Through the Looking Glass'
Alice in Wonderland has always been odd, so I expect this to be odd as well.
Anyone else notice that Peter Jackson of Lord the Rings fame is starting to look like some kind of lovechild between Tim Burton and Stephen Spielberg?

I liked him better when he was a tubby wittle guy.
