You sound really great man! Light timbre and a good range!
I definitely haven't had any training or anything, but do I have potential? :v:

Dude your voice is great. Nice dark timbre and your falsetto really surprised me too. If you'd train your voice you'd be awesome as fuck. You should cover Mad World by Gary Jules.
I hope you guys like some acapella and beatbox, just made this yesterday out of boredom.

I tried

I feel as though I have a fairly good vocal range, I'm alright with falsetto and vibrato along with modal but I want to figure out how to put more power behind my voice.

11/10, but only because you sang a song about (just about) my home. But no, really, you have a good voice; far better than mine. I've personally only recently became interested in trying to train my voice to be a mediocre-at-best vocalist so I can write (I've played guitar for over 10 years now) more rounded portions of songs. I'd say you should look into getting some lessons if you think you'd be interested in singing more.

Mhmm, sounds okay, other one sounded better. Maybe a coldplay song?

You need to find a way to thicken your voice instead of going into falsetto when you are passing your passagio. Your passagio is where your voice starts to crack and move to falsetto, try to prevent that and thicken your voice. It's really difficult to explain, but once you get it, you'll sing with a lot of power.
I wish I can sing. I just want to sing Across The Universe or Let It Be perfectly.
if anybody here raps and needs someone to produce beats for them pm me
I don't know if I wish I could sing better, or if I could just get the gumption to actually feel like I'm a decent singer. I've had people tell me I'm fine, but I just still feel 'meh' about my voice.
Also, as TCB offered, I can do the same for guitar lines if anyone needs one. PM me for an example of my works.
Oh. I meant to post something when I first came across the thread but it was too late. Then I did some singing today.
please mind your ears, i suspect there will be ear rape.

Admittedly; not as a bad as I was expecting, to be perfectly honest. I think you tried to be a touch higher than you should with the Ink Spots, but the last one was pretty decent.
Yeah, I was really pushing my upper range with that. Basses should not try to sing in the same octave as that song.
No, tenors and basses are just a pinch apart! One day this weekend I'll break down and pull out my mic and record myself while I mess around in Audacity on my other projects, guys. I could use the constructive criticism.

Sounds good, nice timbre, but it does sound like you need to work on your upper vocal range!

Looking forward to it, I'll record something too soon!
I'm so self conscious about my voice, and I know I could get better with practice, but it's so hard because I have a tendency to be massively timid when practicing at home (family etc are in said home)
I wish I had a soundproof box.

I was timid too back in march this year when I started practicing singing and playing acoustic at the same time. Nowadays I just play and sing loudly and I get honest compliments and surprised looks from everyone that heard it so far. You need to be confident in your own voice, you need to know where your boundaries are and what you can and can't, then you know what you can pull off loudly with confidence without worrying about timid feelings.
[editline]2nd September 2013[/editline]
For example, I sing loud and confident in standard tunings on my acoustic but as soon as I switch to DADGAD (It sounds so completely different) I can't catch a lot of melodies while improvising vocally so I do that quietly till I can pull it off with enough practice.
For me, I play is standard Dropped-D, but down a further half-step. Although lately I have been finally getting into standard half-step down.
Also, sorry for not posting my voice this weekend. I've been sick with some sort of sinus crap, so I can hardly talk without pain in my throat. Will try next weekend.

enjoy :x
Incredible range and control, but you tend to force your timbre to sound a bit.. sad as if you're crying a bit. A lot of singers do that, try to avoid that, because your timbre is so light and your range is so big, don't darken it! It's beautiful the way it is!
Facepunch should do an acapella collaboration, barbershop maybe? I'd be interested.

Maybe after I get a higher quality microphone
Here's a recording I made with one of my friends - it's a birthday song, with some somewhat dubious lyrics. I'm the one singing (though my friend has a few lines).

We drank a bit while doing the whole ordeal, but I think it turned out pretty well, even though we didn't have that much time.
Look out for the kazoo solo and the ear rape shenanigans done by my friend's sound card.
I'd really love to learn to sing, but I don't know if I should take lessons or what, because my voice is pretty shitty and it doesn't seem like any amount of lessons could change that. But then again I'd really like to learn it, so idk
This is my attempt to cover a song that I only just found and really liked, my voice cracked once since it's so dry here, but I didn't want to do it over (this is like 8th try)
cc please, I don't care if it's harsh, I know I can't really sing. :v:
Also, I'm still trying to work out the correct position for my mic and everything, and my room is very echoey, so it doesn't sound as nice as the mic should.

You sound on pitch, which is good, but you're too gentle with your voice. You sound like you're trying to sing while trying not to sing.

I have a lot trouble with power. My voice also starts to crack up a lot worse when I put any volume into it, it's probably something that would get better with practice, but I don't want to piss off my neighbors. :v:
Do you know how to sing from the gut and not the lungs?
Not really, I also sing sitting down most of the time, that's probably not very good for airflow.

this is me
I never got round to make a recording, so I decided to turn on my mic, take a random lyrics song of mine and play the guitar with 4 random chords. You'll hear a lot of mistakes but fuck it! Here is me singing:
