Hey, just wondering if anyone knows what the best mic i could get under 50 $ for rapping would be?
http://www.amazon.com/CAD-U37-Condenser-Recording-Microphone/dp/B001AIQGUO/ref=sr_1_3?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1391522893&sr=1-3 invest in a pop filter
Aspiring vocalist here! I do mostly vocal covers over instrumentals, but I can play a bit of guitar as well. Still a beginner when it comes to playing though. Here's my latest vocal cover My mic isn't exactly the best for singing, though. I broke the noisegate a few times, but I had to be loud!
Being the singer in a band and being a writer are the only things in life that get me laid because I'm pretty ugly. Feels good/badman
i wish i had a band to play with lmao
Geogzm you should just try to find a band to play with, besides being relaxing and cathartic its also an additional but unreliable source of income. That and groupies.

https://soundcloud.com/valon-s/biffy-clyro-machines-cover made a new cover guys.
I put up an advert on one of those classifieds websites. Not sure where else to search :v:
Music stores usually have boards full of band advertisements, sometimes looking for people to join. You should try that.
Music stores usually have boards full of band advertisements, sometimes looking for people to join. You should try that.
I worry about my skill level and vocal skill, I play guitar and sing. How can I find people who are at a similar level to me?
I worry about my skill level and vocal skill, I play guitar and sing. How can I find people who are at a similar level to me?
You gotta start somewhere, just don't be upset or ashamed if a band doesn't consider you good enough or whatever
You gotta start somewhere, just don't be upset or ashamed if a band doesn't consider you good enough or whatever
Or... become upset, upset as fuck and use all of that negative energy to create a flame inside of you which'll always remind you of the fact that you're not good enough, making you improve and improve. Then one day you can show them that you became better than them all. By the way - MrJazzy, what tools and programms you use to create your music ? And also, does anyone have a clue how to improve my singing except just practicing ? I'm pissed off because I can easily rap, and freestyle, but my singing voice(s) still suck imo.
By the way - MrJazzy, what tools and programms you use to create your music ?
I'm guessing you're talking about my electronic music, in which case I use Fruity Loops and standard plugins, I'm not too good with the technical part of making electronic music yet.
And also, does anyone have a clue how to improve my singing except just practicing ? I'm pissed off because I can easily rap, and freestyle, but my singing voice(s) still suck imo.
Plenty of ways, record yourself and listen, imitate other singer's styles, sing while playing an instrument, sing scales etc.
Imitating singers you like is always a good thing as it gives you a good basis for how well you can sing. I used to use Freddie Mercury as a landmark and now I can sing most of his material so I know I've grown.
How about a facepunch singing band? Fuckusername, your voice is amazing! Can anyone recommend me a song to cover?
I felt like my voice was getting worse so I decided to experiment with something new, I still worble a little bit sometimes but I tried singing higher pitched and without trying to keep my accent. I read somewhere that voices default to American-esque accents while singing because the accent's neutral so I might as well try embrace it for once :v:
crappy recording, first part is an improvised song based on another one, second part is a straight cover of perfect world by sublime
This has a ton of effects and crap on it, but its for the genre really. It's DnB.
I'm not very good at actually writing songs, which I do want to get better at, so at the moment I only do covers. Here's my most recent 2, Harukaze (15th Bleach Opening) and Liberee, Delivree (Frozen's Let It Go in French) https://soundcloud.com/shadeefox/harukaze-scandal-cover https://soundcloud.com/shadeefox/lib-r-e-d-livr-e-cover For whatever reason, I really enjoy singing in other languages, but I do also enjoy singing in English too XD Just gotta actually record some English covers first :P
Recorded this the other day, any cc? I probably could've done better, and I messed up once or twice, but I'd been putting it off :v [editline]shieeet[/editline] Looks like I killed the thread. :v:
Is there any decent way of remembering lyrics? I want to end up in a band at some point, and if the other guys are crazy enough to let me do vox I don't wanna fuck up lyrics if we were to play live :v:

so we had an open mic night at my school yesterday -- my buddies practically forced me to sign up to sing opera despite having no training/experience whatsoever. I don't even sing and it sounds like shit, but everyone loves it so whatever

Here's me playing / singing "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley. Recorded on my HTC One, added quick reverb in Audacity. Other than that, raw.
'Superstar Punani' by Sublime, first singing I've recorded for a few weeks Also, 5446 That's My Number/Ball And Chain, albeit weaker than the previous cover (imo): and Doin' Time, from the self titled album
so I've been trying to learn how to sing and learned some warms up and shit I did this one that works on breathing, you take a deep breath then make a 'tsss' sound. apparently anyone over 12 and who is healthy should be able to do it for 40 seconds I can barely do it for 15 halp lol.. I didn't think I was that unhealthy. Maybe it's just a matter of practicing it, maybe my breathing technique is really just that shite

Here's two recordings from June 2012 - we didn't play that often, but we played for a long time. This was at the end of a 3 hour session, so I was pretty rough. And here's a pretty new one, it's just a cover (no background at all) of "I believe" from the book of mormon - it's far from perfect, especially since it's really challenging range a lot: And here's something I made with some friends whilst drunk:
Have a new cover for you guys https://soundcloud.com/valon-s/electric-feel-mgmt-cover
