Does spoiling plot points really hurt a movie's box office performance at all? Especially a kids movie adapted from a 120-year old novel?
"cartoon = kids movie" + "Kids won't know the difference" are trash excuses to avoid responsibility with producing decent content and was a fucking plague in the 80's and 90's, causing cartoons to largely fall into a pit of glorified toy commercials and really drive home the cultural norm that cartoons are just a thing meant to keep kids preoccupied and given it's an adaptation that takes liberties to divert from the original plot and surprise you with how they did it, spoiling characters and late-movie conflicts is awful. It straight up advertises silver as being some evil cyborg, going into the movies even a kid would have the experience soiled a bit knowing that the main character is being friends with the big bad guy of the whole movie
Lot of nostalgia, yeah. Personally I think that the Norwegian dub of Ice age, Treasure Planet and the emperors new groove lends itself better to the Norwegian voice actors. Just listen to that deep-timbre voice of silver, and the calm deep voice of Tarjei Van Ravens
I remember playing the bonus features on the DVD just to get to the multilanguge reel of this many many times Until we figured out how to manually navigate Titles and Chapters with the dvdsystems Still listening to Goo Goo Dolls to this day tbhtbh
