Up to around when I was ten years old I always had big Christmas lists. Unfortunately my parents didn't make a lot of money so I never got a lot of the stuff. I learned that toys and material possessions aren't everything. When my parents started making more money my Christmas lists usually only had two or three things. Now its usually just one.
Ditto. Fucking ditto.
When you have next to nothing in the first place, you learn to appreciate everything a lot more.
I didn't have that many toys as a child either, so I asked for second hand charity shop toys that I could take apart and combine.
I turned a posable spiderman figure into Raziel from soul reaver with a cigarette lighter, brown paint and a scrap of cloth. It kicked more ass than the power rangers transformers I bought off a friend because I knew that I made it myself. Much more satisfying than paying a ridiculous price for some mass produced chinese sweat shop crap
Seriously, all I wanted Was a spiderman web-shooter and marvel vs Capcom, but I didn't get either of them...
NERF Guns.

Well, My dad gave me his B/W Palm III, He got a color one(m515) that I wanted so badly. He finally stopped using it years ago, and I asked for it. "NO!"
I ended up with it a few years later though, so that doesn't count.
I wanted a Tesla coil, but they weren't to friendly with kids[ZZZAAPPP], so I never got one.

Funny story about this one. Toonami had a contest where you could win a copy. Somehow, I was one of the winners, and it was probably the happiest days of my life. Few weeks later, the package comes and someone stole it out of it. It broke my 10 year old heart.
To be Han Solo / James Bond
I ran around while watching star wars with the gigantic plastic millennium falcon and a little tie fighter going PEW PEW PEW
Parents that loved me. :smith:

Now they fucked them up for everyone and made them look more retarded than they already were. Seriously if your kid wants a power wheels Escalade he should be fucking smacked.

I had three. All stolen at different points in my life.
One by kid when I was 10
One by kid when I was 11
One recently by brother when another Pokemon craze happened.
I cried.
Oh the list is long. While my parents didn't make bad money they had expenses that were far too great to let them spend any on trivial things.
I cant remember what it was called, but it was this little machine that read barcodes on pretty much anything and on the screen, you would receive a monster which you could battle with and stuff.
I actually got one once, but a few days later we were all allowed to bring in a game, toy or whatnot... And this bitch stole it while i was eating my lunch. She was so sly, I never could prove it, and no one beleived me. Everytime I saw her I was like
EDIT: Oh I think they were called Skannerz. Also, the girl resembled a gorilla.

I remember that event. I can't believe you won it!
Also.
Man, trying to think of something that I genuinely wanted but didn't get has made me realise how awesome my parents were.
Of course there were plenty of things where I was all "I MUST HAVE IT" then after not getting it, realising I didn't really want it. My parents had a great gauge of how much I'd enjoy something.
The only thing I can really think of was finding a red Mega Rig plane in a shop, but it was just a little too much. I saved up for a couple of weeks, came back and it was gone.

Oh god I remember that.
No more than about 2 cars could go on it, even then they crashed a lot.
This thread makes me sad :frown:
