I dont like superman movies just because he cant really die, and the only way he can has been done so many times.
maybe they can explore the mental crisis he may experience, like instead of saving a bunch of people, he saves his loved one , or how the world goes against him for being an overpowered extraterrestrial, or how an alien tries to get across a foreign world , hell i dont know i just hope they do something really interesting instead of superman killing everything.

Clark Kent is a journalist in his twenties who was adopted as a child by Martha and Jonathan Kent after he was transported to Earth from the dying planet Krypton. Raised with the values of his adoptive parents, he feels alienated because of his unique super abilities and struggles to find his place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero Superman to protect its people.

So looking forward to this, the whole point of the flight part at the end was to show he was flying faster than the sound barrier hitting Mach 3. ( count them )
You can't break the sound barrier again, you break it once, then your already past it. The number of bursts has no correlation to how many times the speed of sound he's going.
Maybe he was breaking through the atmosphere.
Why are people arguing about breaking the sound barrier and if its realistic or not, when the fucking thing that broke the sound barrier was a guy flying.
I hate it when people say Superman is too overpowered, yet are perfectly fine with Batman beating anything just because "he's Batman!" there is no too overpowered, Superman has plenty of enemies who can give him a run for his money, it's not Superman's powers that make him who he is, it's what he stands for, people need to use they're imagination more, there are plenty of comics and graphic novels where Superman is physically and mentally challenged by an opponent where the story is well crafted and written and generally fun to read.
That was an awful trailer.
When I saw the scene in the trailer with the guy hitchhiking I couldn't help but remember that bit from the old Hulk series.

The problem is that superman is kinda... boring... a lot of the time. He can't be killed except with magic (which is ignored in most adaptations because nobody except comic fans know about it) and kryptonite, therefor most villains simply don't pose a threat to him. Sure, he's great when Darkseid attacks, or when he's made to have a crisis of faith like in Kingdom Come, but it's not really that entertaining to watch when he's going up against most mundane enemies, and he can't fight the really big bads every month, otherwise Metropolis is a pile of rubble. This often results in the temporary nerfing of superman or really contrived reasons for the villains having kryptonite. This is in direct opposition to Batman, whom is entertaining due to the fact that he can be hurt by a mere bullet or henchman, and has been on a variety of occasions. Every time Supes goes out on patrol he's fighting for something besides survival, and no matter what happens the comic will go on, but with batman every time he goes out he doesn't know if he'll return.
They filmed most of this movie in plano.
I live right by plano.
I got a pic of the set too.
Yeah, sure, if your primary interests include violence and slow-motion. Maybe it was good as a film, but I found it pretty terrible compared to the graphic novel.
Whoa what's this violence in a superhero/antihero film?!?!? say it ain't so!!
God I fucking hate that argument. Actually it's not an argument it's just generic unjust whiny bullshit.
Slow motion? What the fuck are you talking about? If you mean like, the 16 second fight in the apartment stairs with Rorschach and SWAT then that's such a hilariously skewed perspective to look at things.
I must be the only person here who thought Stalin.
I hope its not gonna have a cop out ending like the first 2 Superman films (well Superman 2 had 2 endings the other one had the cop out) where Superman just flies really fast and turns back time. That's not how it works Superman.
I'm getting kind of tired seeing Spiderman, Superman and Batman movies being churned out (but of course, if they are good, they are good).
I would love to see an excellent adaption of something that isn't any of those three. But maybe it's just because they are so iconic that it's just plain easy to make a good movie out of them.
Regardless, would be nice.
A Superman movie?
Hmmm disappointing,I thought it would be a sword wielding hero story
At first I thought it was a trailer for Deadliest Catch.

The ending to the novel was pretty bad IMO, the film made it much better.
So, is this the first movie of that rumored Justice League movie?
Knowing Nolan's previous superhero work, I'm hopeful they'll do more than a clichéd "Superman saves the world and that's about it really" story and do a bit more with it.
thought it was a trailer for something like deadliest catch - the movie (until i saw him with the cape)
speaking of which, i wouldn't mind a deadliest catch movie.

I hope that rumor is true (and don't get me wrong, I liked the Avengers, but I would like to see a comparable live action adaptation of the JL).

I felt Immortals proved the point a sword wielding hero could be epic, but maybe the new Superman will do justice.
well yeah, the hero usually wins in movies and sometimes wins in comics
but batman is a more relatable character, he has flaws, a shitty childhood, and some of the stresses that normal people have
superman is a fucking god who can do no evil and can do anything ever
Superman is relatable in a way as well. He's adopted, and struggles with his identity because he doesn't know his true parents. Yeah, he's super human, but he's a super hero. Some super heroes use their talents, like Batman, or Iron Man. Some actually have powers, like Superman, Hulk, and whatnot.
Done properly, a movie about Superman would cover the mental anguish he struggles with, knowing his parents are dead (oops batman) and how he decides to live his life and form his identity around the values of those who cared for him, and maybe using his abilities and resources to save those in need (heh batman).
All heroes in these different movies from their respective companies are different, but the underlying theme is always "overcome a bunch of bullshit and make good choices and save people"

Seeing a rivalry between Justice League and Avengers movies would tickle my fancy in ways it hasn't been tickled before.

Don't worry, Iron Man 3 is in production :v: I'm most excited about that tbh
If you break the sound barrier there's a burst exactly like that, but it's alot quicker.
Depends how fast you're going, I've seen F16's hold up a steady barrier for quite a while at some airshows.
What's the song in the trailer? I'm sure I've heard it or something similar before.

They should make a Punisher movie off that short video that showed up a few weeks ago or something. Also a the Darkness movie.
