So, was the linking to the full-sized images removed from thumbs in quotes? If so, thanks. It's kind of annoying having to click on the image if they're scared of adding a horizontal scroll bar
[QUOTE=rampageturke 2;29967341]says the linux user :rolleyes:[/QUOTE]
Oh boy, here we go
Could we possibly get the Bad reading rating back? Not a big deal, but it was nice to have.

It's funny because you cut out all useful information about the page it was on.
It's usually someone putting a passworded link into image tags

That's just Erika/d2k5 being the creepy psycho he is.

So garry, any thoughts on a new stats page? I'd love to see graphs showing off some of this data that's being collected (OS, Browser etc)
Someone embeds an image, and they have a htaccess file that requires authentication to access the image.

and thanks
Wait, why did he remove media tags?
Dont rate me late, It's not like I haven't noticed it. I just don't know the reason.
[QUOTE=garry;29970410]It isn't a problem anymore. I know you will disagree and go out and find 3 posts from 2009 with really bad spelling. But get over it.[/QUOTE]
I'm not going to freak out and go looking for every post with spelling errors. True, spelling isn't as terrible as it was back in the day. I just think that people who constantly spell things wrong should learn to spell correctly. The only time I've seen any member of Facepunch point out spelling errors is when someone else is making the error. And they only point out the error to make the other person look stupid.
ffff that shit with the password prompt is from hotlinked images. If they're happening in recent or active threads where it's a problem, just PM me a link to it and I'll get rid of it.

He feels that they were over used
I'm genuinely interested as to why large threads cause slowdowns.
Surely there can't be any speed difference from grabbing posts on later pages than earlier pages, right?

It's just a vBulletin thing I think, on another forum I go to (which runs IPB), there's threads with 18,000+ posts that don't cause any more slowdowns than threads with 3 posts.

i guess it allows fresh content in the OP, if the thread is abandoned by the OP then the content cant be updated?
I think it's because of some non-standard VBulletin-feature Garry added, perhaps ratings or the new OS/browser/country thing.
[QUOTE=Sanius;29967251]is it suddenly not okay to shit on people for using windows XP? I didn't get the memo[/QUOTE]

[QUOTE=Dlaor-guy;29976154]I think it's because some non-standard VBulletin-feature Garry added, perhaps ratings or the new OS/browser/country thing.[/QUOTE]There's no way the OS/Browser/Country could have any sort of effect, when a post is posted he gathers the useragent string and country and stores in the table of post information. I doubt ratings would do anything because ratings are gathered per page only, so it shouldn't matter how many pages there are.
Garry the Archive isn't working anymore, it brings me back to the main page
It seems like the [url=http://facepunch.com/fp_upgrade.php]upgrades page[/url] is back, will it be making a comeback with new upgrades maybe?

The thread limit has been on way before that. Since 2007 (or at least that's when I can first remember it). (Though a brief time in 2007/2008 is was disabled, then enabled again).
