It's a trollface.
I'm guessing it's apng. I don't use your Firefox/Opera stuff, so I can't tell.
it just transforms from a normal face into a troll face
That's hardly offensive.

offensive is racist or porn altho mine is so HOT that it's barely SFW

flagdog is slowing the fuck out of every thread page load and makes the entire page lag. it's a joke. [editline]28th May 2011[/editline] and I know it's flagdog because opening up the network diagnostics tab in chrome's dev console shows that flagdog isn't responding to requests in a decent amount of time

(Hi from 512kbps internet)
What lag? (Hi from 512kbps internet)
It's not about how fast your connection is, it's about how slow flagdog is. Typing into this message box right now is noticeably laggy. When there's something like 40 images all loading from flagdog on a page it seems to screw Chrome over.
I think those are the flags that are supposed to be in the bottom left corner of each post.
gee thanks einstein
The way Garry's implemented flags is a fucking joke. [editline]28th May 2011[/editline] For some reason he thought it'd be good to query http://flagdog.facepunchstudios.com/?ipe=someslongassfuckinghashhere to get the flag icon when he could have just preproccessed it when it was posted.
User Agent test.
Whats with these Nation flags on my post? I don't even live in America, although that's probably displaying because the proxy I am using is probably American. Also, the "browser" icon thinks I'm using Google shitty knockoff called Chrome rather than the legit, original, tracker-free Chromium. The icon should be switched to the Chromium one. Less ugly, and acknowledges the original developers rather than Google's version where they simply added tracking software/spyware, slapped "Google" and removed "ium" on/from the name, and gave it a shitty color scheme.
What spyware did they add?
Note the fact that the advertisements have a tendency to be about subjects you browse. Quit using Chrome now. They are gathering more data on you than just what bugs need to be fixed. Chrome is practically spyware marketed as a browser. [editline]28th May 2011[/editline] You need to also remember that Google is also taking credit for other's work.
Less ugly, and acknowledges the original developers rather than Google's version
the original developers.... so, google?
This thread isn't about fucking Google, it's about Facepunch.
And why are you using Chrome then?
Any more posts about browsers and I'll ban.
Why are there more and more users whose flag icons don't show up?
Why are more and more users whose flag icons don't show up?
It is quite perplexing.
Why are more and more users whose flag icons don't show up?
The reference to the flags are there it's just http://flagdog.facepunchstudios.com/ is taking so long to respond so your web browser just gives up and displays nothing.
It is quite perplexing.
because garry doesn't know how to write a scalable web service
i think the flag images should be hosted locally, and ip addresses should be resolved that cause the correct flag to display, or none at all.
Garry can you please add this browser?
