Its still an Asahi WA2000, just a 'limited edition' version, also the gold edition is just a rumor, and has never been seen.

I bust a fucking gut at this one.

The WA2000 is one of my favorite snipers of all time because of Hitman, but the only one you can buy is a shitty full-plastic springer for $700. I wish someone would come along and make an AEG full metal variant of some kind.
the ares is metal and wood
and if you're rich enough to afford one then you can pay bingo to convert it to p* and take m14 mags so it's not shit
coulda swore it was plastic, my bad
rule of thumb with ares is usually good/great externals but shittastic proprietary internals
ares dsr1 is neat

That's cool, Vasily Zaytsev is one of my favorite snipers of all time because of Enemy at the Gates!
That's cool, Vasily Zaytsev is one of my favorite snipers of all time because of Enemy at the Gates!
But the game is literally called... Hitman?
sniper vs sniper rifle etc
sigh
my favorite sniper is the mosin nagant lol i wish there was an airsoft version with polyester stock
with polyester stock
a polyester stock would be neat
if you get cold you could wear it as a shirt
That's cool, Vasily Zaytsev is one of my favorite snipers of all time because of Enemy at the Gates!
I wrote a report on him once. Everyone thought he wasn't real.
He's not...
p sure he is real lol
200+ confirmed kills during the stalingrad siege, etc etc
[editline]27th June 2013[/editline]
enemy at the gates wasn't 100% historically accurate obv
Simo Häyhä > Vasily Zaytsev
He really isn't though. He is a fictional conglomeration created by Soviet propaganda. However, Lyudmila Pavlichenko, Tanya Baramzina, Nina Lobkovskaya, Ivan Sidorenko, Fyodor Okhlopkov, and Vasilij Shalvovich Kvachantiradze are real, and most likely who Vasily Zaitsev is based on.

can you back this statement up
but

he has a grave in volgograd
This is Vasily Zaytsev

He looks pretty real to me.
Okay you got me there. However, Erwin König/Heinz Thorvald is FOR SURE not real. There are absolute zero records whatsoever of such a person ever existing. No birth records, no Heer personelle records, nor any evidence of a "Berlin Sniper School".
So a Vasily Zaitsev existed, I still highly doubt that most, if any of his story is real. There are (as far as I can tell) 3 know photographs of him, two of which are staged, and one is him as an old man.
[editline]28th June 2013[/editline]
German snipers in WW2 were (almost) all members of Gebirgs units, deployed as independent Jägers
he was real but over sensationalized by the Soviets to boost morale on both the front lines

you know when you're in a war and in combat you usually don't have time to take photos especially in a war like world war 2
compared to modern wars where people take pictures all the time
for example (just some random picture)

"Hey Ivan! Check out this wreckage... looks like it'd be perfect for us to take a picture if we pretended to aim our mosins and kill fascists!"
"Sweet, good idea, Vasily! Here lemme Instagram this, I'm sure Tania would love to see this!"

I didn't mean photos of him actually in combat, I mean that one photo is him posed with a rifle, the other is him standing next to a political officer while he "inspects Vasily's rifle". Meanwhile there's like 30+ photos of Lyudmila Pavlichenko.
