I got Android Chinese one lately. It's great and pretty useful.
I'd buy one if they weren't so fucking overpriced.
Tablets are really popular in big cities. I see a lot of people walk around with iPads and/or that Samsung imitation all of the time when I go down to Columbus. It's a lot easier than carrying a laptop. I guess Apple is making the next step forward, though, and is making a new operating system a step up from Snow Leopard, called Lion, which is supposed to look/feel more like an iPad without being an iPad. I don't see the purpose of that at ALL but w/e apple do your thing
I saw a guy taking a jog while holding an ipad :v:
My school is obsessed with apple products. First they let us rent macbooks from them and then this year they are letting the younger kids rent iPads. All you see is fat 12/13 year olds walk around with iPads being annoying. And mostly all the teacher have iPhones and most of them use iPads as well with their macbooks :wtc:
I know one family that all shares an iPad, in addition to both parents and their oldest daughter all having iPhones.
Never will I buy a tablet. Not until PC gaming is dead anyways.
I just don't like touchscreens in general. Fingerprints everywhere :derp:
My mother, along with several teachers that work with her, have iPads. plus a few of my friends have various types of tablets for art stuff.
I've got my android (HTC Incredible) for quick information (looking up words I don't know the meaning of, checking maps/directions, reading Wikipedia & news feeds, etc) and my PC for gaming/media. Until tablets become as powerful as desktop computers, I will never have any use for one.
They look pretty neat. If I had the money, i'd probably consider getting one. But since I don't, they're not exactly in my "must have" list. Besides, I prefer their phone equivalents, mostly for the portability. I do however have a rinky dink Bamboo Pen I hardly touch any more.
My dad bought an iPad around 3 months ago. I told him to get a netbook or a laptop but he bought it instead.
I'm posting this from an iPad.
I have an iPad. Love it for browsing & watching movies when I'm not at my computer.
Got a teacher at school with an iPad, but that's about it.
Saw one in the bus last week, that's the only one I've seen ever.
Where do all of you live? I can't go 5 minute out without seeing a 40 year old businessman playing angry bird on his Ipad. My dad has an Ipad too. He got it for free.
A couple of my friends have iPads and they like it for the "almost a computer--with 3G so you don't have rely on the terrible school connection" value. My mom and my grandma want them because they want every piece of technology. Meh. I wouldn't get one.
Rich 40yr old dudes have an Ipad
This 14 year old in high school has 2 iPads and walks around with them all the time.
My older brother has one, he's 23 and has the newest gen ibook but still he went and bought it for some reason.
The only tablet I have and ever will have is my wacom.
My household has a Samsung Galaxy Tab. It's really nice with the Android OS and all.
My dad is a bespoke Interior Architect and there are dickloads of iPads floating around the industry right now. They make the perfect showcase/presentation device for smaller, bespoke businesses. Most of the time you need to show something off to no know more than 4 other people at a time, so it's nice to have a sexy little tablet you can show people stuff on then hand around. Part of the package I guess.
Why do people think you need to be rich to own an iPad? People use them as alternatives to laptops and half of you are probably posting from a laptop.

I have some tablet that uses android 2.1 and all I use it for is a portable movie player. I really can't think of any other purpose to own one other then that.
i have an ipad and iphone, i never use my ipad anymore. it was cool the first month or so but the capabilities of a laptop are far more practical and superior.
I see tablets everywhere now. My dad and I both own a Google Xoom and I have to say it's a very handy device and an overall magnificent device. My dad uses his for business. He never takes his laptop with him on trips anymore. My school lets us use tablets in class as well. [editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
I wouldn't ever pay more than 100€ for a tablet. A netbook+smartphone can do anything a tablet can, but better. When you just want to quickly check something you use the smartphone and if you want to do work or are sitting in a train or something you can use the netbook which is a much better than any Android or iOS tablet will ever be.
Though you never owned a tablet so...
My dad uses the Samsung Galaxy Tablet I believe. And I have a friend who owns an Ipad 2.
I see the appeal in Tablets, but I prefer the vast-er functionality of a laptop.
