When I get my free iPad, only one thing will vex me: how do I use it un public and take advantage of its portability without looking like a total douchebag? Is there a way?

these are actually pretty damn impressive, EMS agencies use them and I know firsthand they can be run over/ thrown around and keep working
Got an iPad in August, loved it. Sold it last week to get a 3DS :v:
I'd rather buy a cheap laptop instead of an Ipad or whatever them young folks call them.
hipsters my sisters friends all have or want them "omy god i saw some lady with a neclace thing for her ipad it was so COOL"
I have seen maybe 2 people that own iPads. That is all I have seen.
iPhone, iPad, itouch, idontgiveashit
i call it imitation because honestly who uses a samsung tablet
God damn you're dumb.
When I hear people talk about Tablets, I always first think they mean the Wacom kind. Eventually I'm like "OOOHHHH THOSE KINDA TABLETS"
iPad is a fisher price my first computer. its marketed as simplistic and futuristic but its really for the older crowd. [editline]25th April 2011[/editline] However I have a tablet that I use to read from for debate
Come to think of it, I don't know anyone who's bought a tablet (besides pen tablets; though I'm the only person I know with one of those, even). My stepbrother just won an ipad 2 apparently, though.
I don't have one simply because it's easier for me to carry a PSP for games and my smartphone for everything else.
One of my friends has a galaxy tab, which he uses as a phone, he looks like a right prick making phone calls on it.

I think tablets would just be toys, they lack a lot of functionality. It's fun to play with people's tablets if I meet anyone with one, but I would never consider purchasing one.
I can't wait for christmas, I'm considering purchasing ZTE's tablet as I adore my ZTE Blade. Its just big enough and for £80 I can't believe I got a 800x480 capacitive OLED display.
The Ipad looks like it can easily break or drop, I would buy it if it looks more durable.
The limiting factor I find on tablets is the OS. iOS, Android 3.0 or RIM's OS simply does not cut it for utility. When we start seeing decent Windows ones or Chrome OS ones they will have a hell of a lot more functionality and maybe then will they start eating into the netbook/laptop market. They make nice media devices at the moment with the occasional web browsing, I haven't really used them for anything else asides from gaming.
Sorry, but how exactly will a Chrome OS tablet be more useful than an Android 3.0 one?
I'm all for android.... but. Honeycomb and android in general unfortunately has horrible lag issues, I cannot wait for the day my phone opens everything up smoothly instead of jittering randomly.
By tablets I thought you meant tablets used for digitally drawing on a computer. Only people that I know that have tablets are very rich relatives and rich dumbass friends. Not fair :saddowns:
Sorry, but how exactly will a Chrome OS tablet be more useful than an Android 3.0 one?
It's a window based UI desktop OS with good tablet features. I'll find the video demo later.
My grandparents got ipad 2's. They're pretty cool but not worth the extraordinary price in my opinion. Honestly the only tablet I'm interested in is that one that you just write on and it's less that $100 dollars (I forget what it's called).
My main computer is a tablet from like '04 or something. :v:

It's also equipped with either a regular touchscreen or a Wacom digitizer and has funky extras like integrated GPS but it can be weird to plug some USB drives in. Also comes with a carrying handle.
I hate tablets. They're big enough to be a hassle to carry yet small enough to make you look gay holding it. (By hassle to carry I mean it can't fit in your pocket)
I have an iPad2, and I use it quite a lot. I'm on it right now. It's just much nicer to use than a laptop, not worth £400 but I could afford it at the time and I don't regret it.
i have an ipad, not really worth the money but its nice
I got the Xoom but I use it for our electronically distributed work material and it was completely worth it to be honest. It's good for bringing up schematic diagrams on the tablet then the shitty laptops we use for fixing jets. I regret nothing.
