EeePad Transformer? [img_thumb]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81HNomMrdML._AA1500_.jpg[/img_thumb]
Yep that's the one
Reason 1: I would have been mugged in 30 seconds if it was an ipad.
where the fuck do you live?
The closest thing I've seen is an iPod Touch and as we all know the iPad is just a big iPod Touch. Other than that, I doubt it. They're expensive, just get a god damn netbook if you need it to be that portable.
where the fuck do you live?
This may come as a shock, but I was exaggerating slightly. The park is near where I work and it is a bit rough area. I have heard of muggings there in the local paper, but probably not in daylight. I wouldn't take my kindle out if I was that worried. But I think there is this kind of, easy-to-sell-on, "steal me!" appearance to apple products.
It's a fucking laptop without keyboard and with a touch screen. I don't get people.
I for sure am not D:
I kind of want an iPad... Just for the sake of having it. I'm not a big fan of laptops, but I find tablets rather interesting. It's an idea straight out of Sci-Fi, and having grown up with Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, it'd just make me really, really happy to be able to sort of live bits of what I wished my childhood was like. Maybe I'm just rambling. Oh well, I get paid a very large sum in June, may as well run out and pick one up for the sake of it.

I like my N900, it's basically a tablet with a phone radio and a downsized screen. A 2009 N810 basically. But honestly, if it was tablet sized I wouldn't buy it :v:
I saw a young girl on the daily city bus ride once. She had some form of Tablet, seemed like an Android almost. (Mind you, I don't pay attention to all the latest versions of these things) But man, it looked stupid seeing her hold a fucking gigantic electronic sandwich in her hands. I was surprised her pocket was big enough to fit that thing.
I bought the iPad 2 and I like it. It makes shit more enjoyable and the games are pretty awesome.
I really want an Android tablet, such as the Motorola Xoom or the Asus Transformer. I have an HTC EVO, which takes care of pretty much everything (Email, Word documents, etc), but I feel having a tablet will help bridge schoolwork and what not.
The same people who buy the Kinect.
One of my friends has one of these for college. http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/asus-asus-eee-12-1-tablet-featuring-intel-dual-core-i5-processor-470um-ep121-1a004m-english-silver-ep121-1a004m/10162673.aspx I find that it could be very useful if used right.

I have one of these: but I mostly use it for movies
My aunt and her friend have like 3 ipads.
i got the new ipad 32gig wifi on release day and its quite cool. photobooth really owns at parties
you bring your ipad to parties?...
People use them more for the house than they would walk about with them, that's why you don't see much of them.
I don't get why everybody hates them. I personally would love to have my own Tablet of some kind, maybe when the android ones are a little more optimized, but they still sound really useful to have. Not to replace an actual PC or anything obviously, I already have a good Desktop and laptop, but a Tablet would be a neat addition.
you bring your ipad to parties?...
i host
The more I think about it, the more I want to sell the iPad 2 that I won for 700 dollars and use that money towards buying an off contract, no bullshit, european, Galaxy S II and putting it on AT&T
My dad got one for free through his job so that he could review its potential for the advancement of technology in education (he's the administrator of technology for the local school district). There really wasn't much to review: it's a $700 iPod Touch--meaning it has almost no potential for the advancement of technology in education (at least not when compared side-by-side to $250 Netbooks with all the same capabilities, and then some). I guess it's kind of a neat toy, but I would never buy one of these things, nor recommend one to anybody else.
Don't mind me, I'm just postin' on my iPad. :v:
Pretty much everyone in here slating tablets probably hasn't used one. More comfortable than using a laptop or desktop and you can lie back or on your side and still use it easily, like a phone but as you all use as a bad point for some reason, bigger. I probably wouldn't bother taking it out with me unless I was taking my bag, maybe a 7" one if I am wearing trousers with big pockets.
My Brother-In-Law purchased a Nook Colour, and put Android Gingerbread on it. So yeah I'd say people are buying them.
I live near San Francisco and ride the subway a lot. I see iPads sometimes on the trains, but I see a lot more iPhones, and even more Amazon Kindle e-Readers than iPads. The iPad is cool, but it is too fucking expensive.
