huh. they didnt seem the need for that with the old Battlefront game..
But it had a season pass??

who/what is this?
battlefront 2 by pandemic absolutely did not have a season pass.
who/what is this?
A droid designed to give out Palpatine's final orders following his death.

It also came out over 10 years ago and didn't really have any post launch additions.
why would it? it already had a very big amount of content from the start. its still enough even today. more good content isnt bad, true, but atleast it was big enough to work very well.
If they were to recreate the original BF1&2 now with the quality of DICE's Battlefronts it would cost a fortune in man hours and take a few years to make.

Yeah and this seems like it'll have a decent amount of stuff on launch and then it will get even more stuff after that.

It's a shame that this is the norm in the industry.

Better graphics and technology comes with harder work making games.
It's a shame that this is the norm in the industry.
yeah god damn money grubbing people having to do more work to make assets and what not because we demand more fidelity in our games these days

Gamers cry "gameplay's what really matters" but their wallets cry "PRETTY SHINY SHIT GIMMIE"
it looks great, the audio is great and the gameplay seems pretty fun. shame its EA + microtransaction BS so i won't buy this.
ugh god dude i know i've said this before but leon do you actually like anything??? you don't always have to cynical!!
I didn't see any Droidekas...
Game looks friggin' sweet though.
ugh god dude i know i've said this before but leon do you actually like anything??? you don't always have to cynical!!
i liked the audio, visuals and most of the gameplay i saw. i thought i stated that. i am however not a fan of EA getting exclusive rights for star wars games and microtransactions and im really not a fan of what disney is doing with star wars overall. i actually miss george lucas, id rather it stagnated. butchering Dark Forces and kyle katarn for Rogue One was fucking embarrassing.
i like a lot of things, people just never ask me or the topic of said liked thing never really comes up.
im really not a fan of what disney is doing with star wars overall

Good thing Disney isn't doing anything and it is all the heads of LucasFilm.
One thing I noticed when watching the gameplay videos is that it sounds kinda empty without the Star Wars soundtracks playing in the background. Star Wars Battlefront I and II both had some musical pieces playing in the background while playing. Does anyone know if this will be an option?
you can hear some of the classic tracks in the no commentary video, so it sounds star warsy.
Is this still using the dumb "Can't actually land or get into fighter craft" system?

I don't think I've ever seen you be happy about anything
I'm happy that this game doesn't have the same fucked up structure of the first game, they listened and things seem to be changing, there's a limit of course but it's something
You do you man
Is this still using the dumb "Can't actually land or get into fighter craft" system?
No, what they're doing it better IMO.
Can't camp the ships.

They did no such thing though?
lucasfilm is owned by disney. kathleen has also worked for disney before via The Kennedy/Marshall Company. and by butchering i mean rendering Dark Forces not canon. as far as i know. unless this has changed, kyle katarn and jan ors are nothing more than non-existant in star wars now.

Everything before Disney bought LucasFilm (Minus Clone Wars and a handful of stuff) is non-canon except for what they've released since.

But does that matter? The games still exist, you can still play them. They're not going to take them away from you.
i never said they're taking the old games away. i just think its a shame to replace something interesting with whatever Rogue One tried to be. i fail to see how me not willing to buy this game is an issue. i have my reasons. if i ever get a chance to test the game to be proven wrong, then i will. im open minded and if im wrong ill pay for it, but i dont like EA or their practices.
[editline]11th June 2017[/editline]
and by replace i mean the plot, obviously. theyre not replacing it literally. i know there was a lot of really, really bad EU stuff but dark forces was not one of the bad things.
Bring back the episode 1 + 2 battledroid voices for the love of god.

I don't either
but doesn't having no DLC kinda show a change in some manner? If we as a market ignore that, then how does EA look at that from a business perspective? "Oh people bitched non stop about this, so when we listened, and changed, the people who bitched still bitched, guess we just stop listening to customers at this point"

no DLC is fantastic and im happy they seem to have learnt something. but i dont like how microtransactions work in games with a percentage to decide if you get that cool skin or not. spend 2$ and get it, sweet. or you end up spending 20$. less sweet. you can earn it for free ingame too, but then who knows how many hours that can end up being? one hour? 100 hours?

Have they announced a system like that
i am of course also a hypocrite as i have bought a few boxes in Overwatch. not anymore though, microtransactions are risky.
[editline]11th June 2017[/editline]
i dont know. have they? i dont think so. but thats usually how it works so its just an assumption. if its a different system then by all means show me how itll work.
