• How to Vaporwave

I haven't really listened to vaporwave until now. I always treated it like an ironic thing (it was) using chopped up slow-downed funk, sometimes with compressed sound bits haphazardly to mix things up a bit. I treated it like the video guy in the OP but now listening to Macross, sounds chill.
Shit this stuff is good. It's like I'm actually in an 80's sci-fi flick.
still think most of it's crap though
What even is this channel.
Greetings from WATMM. Also, VHS Head is fantastic, but nowhere near close to being Vaporwave, as someone already said.
to be honest i love how music is altering this decade moving back to funk with a mainstream appeal and also 80s synth with vaporwave stuff
Fashion is cyclic. Mostly because one generation taking hold of a large percentage of media production as the last gen phases out. People tend to produce stuff they grew up with. Now we have 80s/90s kids incorporating modern aesthetics with old.
Vaporwave kind of pisses me off because it looks extremely easy and lazy to do.
Serionically?
Ironiously.
vaporwave is what happens when you get stuck in a virtual mall made for windows 95 [editline]14th February 2015[/editline] giving a shoutout to infinity frequencies, the vaporwave you listen to when you want to listen to some avant garde ass shit

for those who want to jumpstart their collection of vaporwave , macross 82-99 put a zip file of mp3's on his facebook fan page because hes deleting alot of them off soundcloud https://www.facebook.com/macrossmall/posts/761621977255046 https://www.dropbox.com/s/u859csna5rcd5ii/%E3%83%9E%E3%82%AF%E3%83%AD%E3%82%B9MACROSS%2082-99.zip?dl=0
Isn't vaporwave basically just cyberpunk?
Isn't vaporwave basically just cyberpunk?
Nah. Cyberpunk is darker, focused more on the sc-fi stylistics of stuff like 80's films and TV shows, while Vaporwave is more new age-y and more connected to stuff like 90's internet graphics and early digital graphic design stuff. But arguably, Vaporwave is kinda an offshoot of Cyberpunk. [editline]15th February 2015[/editline] Vaporwave's a bit more tongue and cheek too, while Cyberpunk is probably taken a bit more seriously.

I noticed a lot of their soundclouds had dissapeared too, why did they do that?
I have to be honest and say I actually really like the Vapourwave art, like using old 90's web graphics and VHS style footage for things It's got a nice feel to them, hard to explain
Oooh, that's a relief! I noticed a lot of their soundclouds had dissapeared too, why did they do that?
i think soundcloud has a limit of the amount of time of music you can have uploaded at once unless you pay 135$ a year
i think soundcloud has a limit of the amount of time of music you can have uploaded at once unless you pay 135$ a year
Really? Welp, that's just silly. Only being able to upload x amount of music at a time I'd understand, but total? That's just like the favourites limit in Youtube when you don't have enough subscribers. But yeah, if it's that restrictive and the paywall is that huge it's understandable.

Cyan and pink colours go together really well too.
this
I wonder how an worlds.com/digital space traveller clone or an egg-like with that aesthetic would feel like with a vaporwave filled soundtrack. I want it to happen soon
I found out about Vaporwave from music used on one of DEElekogolo's videos and tons of it popped up in the related videos section, and it's probably the best thing to ever happen to my music library.
I wish I could like this kind of music, but I just can't get into it. I love the album artwork though.
Damn it. This reminds me so much of a Tom and Jerry episode (or maybe there are a few). As far as I remember it was bloody weird. (it was one of them, I'm sorry)
Vaporwave is fantastic. I really like macintoshplus.
this song changed my life. by change i meant I became obsessed with windows 98 and marble statues for that sick AESTHETIC
vaporwave is my least favorite /mu/ meme my friend has been obsessed with it for over a year now and i just can't take it anymore
All this vaporwave music reminds me of the music that CapsAdmin makes.
this song changed my life. by change i meant I became obsessed with windows 98 and marble statues for that sick AESTHETIC
The best part is that it's literally just slowed down Diana Ross. It's plagiarized essentially :v:
I'm actually really liking this for some reason, I'm not sure why but it's just... nice? I don't want to sound like a pretentious hipster cunt but I'm actually listening to this music and experiencing it rather than just listening to it, I can't explain it...

I found this Guide to vaporwave, it has a lot of sub-genres for such a niche genre. More basic vaporwave chart. [t]http://i.imgur.com/K78sYq3.jpg[/t] [editline]15th February 2015[/editline] Also the vaporwave subreddit has created a website that is an archive of vaporwave music. Majority of it was free releases but I saw a couple paid ones (like $1), I don't want to link the site cause I don't want to get banned for Warez.
