Actually intelligence files and a fairly easy to read coded message in the game heavily implies that he did not die escaping. [sp]Though what Mason saw and acted on after Vorkuta was just brain washing and hallucinations no doubt.[/sp] Also some Intel spoilers that implies this [sp]In the late 70's after the events of Black Ops Mason was contacted by Reznov and goes rogue along with Hudson and Reaver who join him[/sp] So yeah its just one big mind fuck

Oh man i am so glad i finished the game an hour ago before entering this thread.

Black Ops singleplayer seems a lot better than Modern Warfare 2's.

I love Reznov but why is he in Black ops?

Coincidentally this is the same camp your character gets thrown in, meets Reznov and they plan an escape (you don't see them planning).

Nothing in the game hints that Reznov is still alive. But within the Intel and the Terminal, [sp]there are hints of Woods surviving Kravchenko's grenade. Also. it is inferred that Alex Mason actually kills JFK[/sp]

This was exactly what I was expecting when they leaked that one of the MW2 levels had the objective of escaping a gulag. I put together in in my mind that Russians invade, you must be captured and need to escape! I was so excited! This is not what happened. And then this gem of a campaign and this awesome level came about and it's like all the disappointment over the MW2 gulag disappeared.

Didn't really care for this level. I was about 95% certain I was just replaying the Soviet assault on the Reichstag from the end of World at War again...Reznov's words, and the chanting all reminded me of that.
