Christopher Ecceleston (sp?) was good in Doctor Who.
Hugh Laurie is good in House as well.
I can't take anybody but Eccleston seriously as the doctor. I refuse to watch it.
TV show AND movie actor? I'd have to say Jim Carey. He's made me laugh in every movie I've seen him in, and I think I remember hearing that he started out on a sketch show.

There's Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Clint Eastwood
Tom Hanks is my favorite actor and Maggie Gyllenhaal is my favorite actress.
Tv would probably have to be a tie between Richard Dean Anderson (motherfucking Magyver man) and some of the Lost character. Anderson probably first since he has done more mainstream shows I have seen. For the movies i'm leaning toward Robert Downey Jr. He really is a good actor and fills rolls perfectly.
