because that's the character in the show. ever since the first episode freeman's been written as a narcissistic, drug-addled, fed-up-with-this-shit scientist with no respect or sympathy for anyone else around him. maybe you don't realize he's playing a character. i imagine that if you came into the series on or near the finale then it may seem like just screaming but he's screaming because that fed-up-with-this-shit character is fighting a giant space baby on a day where he thought his biggest problem would be being late for work. but this is definitely not even close to a screaming let's play.

I remember watching the earlier stuff and getting a chuckle or two out of them, but watching this now just seemed so different and kind of cringe worthy imo, I guess that's just me though, to each their own.

In one episode he picks up a health kit and acts high because of the morphine. So he probably doesn't want to just be doing that constantly.
I hoped the ending scene would be him waking up in HL2 train for a few seconds. But the real ending was great.

I'm kinda dissapointed that he didn't react to the Nihilanth knowing his name, but otherwise it was a great finale. I hope he does more Civil Protection.
