I'm honestly expecting him to have a short break, maybe release another Civil Protection episode or work on Game Dungeon a bit until he reveals he's working on Freeman's Mind 2. What do you guys think?
I don't want to sound pessimistic but I honestly can't say I'm expecting to see any more of Freeman's Mind for awhile, if at all. I'm not saying that I wasn't hoping that we'd be given a glimpse of Freeman inbound for City 17, but at the same time I'm not surprised. While he hasn't outright stated that he won't make it, it just doesn't seem to me like it's something he wants to commit to... and after being at it for over half a decade now with all the drama he had to go through with Machinima and the mere stress it must have caused him to release the ~ 10 hours of content that he has, I can't say that I blame him. I think he should be commended for delivering quality episodes for this long. He kind of sums up my impression of him in his most recent blog post:
I don’t really have some huge epiphany about the series, to me it’s one project that just seemed to never end. I’m glad I did it, but there’s a whole bunch of other stuff I’d like to do also.
I'll miss hearing Freeman's narcissistic remarks but I'm sure Ross will keep us entertained for some time to come. Maybe someday?
HL2 is not really something I am too eager for. It needs a completely different character because of the changed setting, and as such it wouldn't be a continuation anyway. I do wish Civil Protection had had a good end like this tho.

Honestly, while I prefer Civil Protection over Freeman's Mind, I feel as if Freeman's Mind in HL2 could be absolutely amazing. Can't wait for 2015 either way.
I hope he continues.
i never thought I'd see the day.
I wasn't even a member of facepunch when this started.. I was 6th grade, now im in college.
I never liked Freeman's Mind personally, but the fact that he started this however long ago and kept at it shows a hell of a lot of dedication.
Sooooo when is FM HL2? Nah, just kidding, it's been a hell of a ride. Hard to believe this is actually, the end. It was an brilliant end. I still really hope somewere he will do HL2 eventually, but for now, a break is fine too. I wonder what he found. If what he wanted was to be the leading man in his own story, well, perhaps he's gotten it, down in… wherever he is now. I wonder if he's happy with his choice, and if he's learned the heavy cost that comes with it. He'll understand soon what I was trying to tell him. He needs me, someone who will wrap everything up at the end - to make sense out of the chaos and the fear and the confusion. That's who I am. That’s what I mean to this world. Oh, yes. Yes, I'll be back. There’s no other way. Once this ends, after it all comes to a close, then I'll be back. The end will be here soon. Very soon. I can wait.
What.
I know imma get a bit slammed for this, but am I the only one that thinks this is really unfunny pewdiepie tier screaming lets play? I mean, its supposed to be freemans mind, but why is he screaming and yelling at npcs expecting replies?
I guess he did it first(?) in 2007. Also, not for profit.
oh
I'm scared.

What.
Stanley Parable
Stanley's Mind plox
Stanley's Mind plox
Pretty sure the narrator pokes at Stanley not being able to speak. Although a narrator voiceover would be pretty rad.
Well this is the pilot episode of my side series I’m experimenting with. It isn’t Civil Protection, but it’s in a similar vein of humor. Basically the premise is that in the Half-Life series, the protagonist Gordon Freeman is entirely silent the whole time. So what this series aims to do is fill in the silence with his thoughts. I tried to make this as entertaining as I could, but the format is very different, so I’d like to hear feedback on this. This was an experiment, and I think it may have some shortcomings. The format of this added many constraints on what I was able to accomplish with the writing, and may have made the humor suffer somewhat as a result. It made me realize just how much more freedom I had with Civil Protection. Unless I get waves of support to do this along with CP, I’m probably going to discontinue this. But feel free to check it out anyway.
From the first episode on December 4th, 2007.
Only took 7 years :v:
Hard to believe it's finally over after the old days of waiting a year or two inbetween episodes.
Man, I'd love to see Freeman's story continue on through to the Episodes, but it seems like Ross has every reason in the world to just end it here. The fear of being typecasted. Making machinima in Source being a nightmare reminiscent of Purgatory. The restrictions on comedy the format creates. Just not wanting another project taking a decade to finish.

If he does half life 2 I will die happy.
Continuation of Civil Protection maybe?
If he does continue Civil Protection, I hope he can transition over to SFM. It's a total nightmare working with faceposer and hammer, I remember when he mentioned how fucking painful it was to get "The Tunnel" finished in time due to the source engine simply not working. He doesn't even do anything over the top or experimental, so probably even the simplest task could fuck up at any time. He almost described it like playing a game of Russian Roulette.
If he can handle making machinima in goldsrc, Source is probably heaven to him.
Not really, considering how he was using half life source, not the original one.
He said on his blog that in mid January he's going to make his first video appearance in which he'll answer most of the questions that people have been asking about what's next for him.
it'll be HL3. That's how they'll confirm it.
it'll be HL3. That's how they'll confirm it.
Ross becomes the official voice of Gordon Freeman.
If he did a kickstarter for a Hl2 season I'd back that shit.
After 7 Long years living in Youtube for this, its was time to go home.. ..Atleast until the 7 more years it would probably take for Ross to do HL2, that i can't wait to see..
If he does half life 2 I will die happy.
You will die before he can finish half life 2.
