I think I'm never gunna' draw again. I give up completely.

Because you'll surely become better at drawing by not doing it. No pain no gain. :P
I'm still waiting to see either layers or a speed paint video shot in 30 or 60 frames so I can stop it at any moment and see what's going on.
Abosolutely Awesome. I'm in awe over the second one.
FFFFFFFFF-
I'll find out your secret someday! And then I'll be the greatest artist on the face of the Earth, and all shall look upon me and despair!

Drawing is a painful process. Self criticism is no fun, but it's even worse when you can't spot your own errors.
So you either fail or you become depressed. Life's a bitch like that.
Amazing.
Also, you wouldn't happen to be CONWAY in CoH?
:o
FUCKING AMAZING

Hmm. That'd be legit, but there are some process shots one his dev page.

Actually i barely use any layers, i have a tendency to accidently paint on the wrong layers and mess things up, so these days i rarely use them at all. i tend to treat the image as though it was a single canvas with sketch lines on it.

i also had a friend put together a bunch of screenshots i took while painting an image once.
The line work at the start is on its own layers...all the colour is on the base layer.

Wow. But what if you want to change something that's behind something else? Do you erase that part, recolor it and then blend it in?

well i just zoom in and redo the area that can be seen, no more work than if i had lots of layers, infact i think save time not having to hide all the layer elements etc.
Shat bricks everywhere when i saw this, you are Da Vinci of my lifetime. Also one of the characters you posted earlier on, the guy with helmet with holes in it, is that art for Marauder in warhammer online or its just coincidence ?
What program do you use?
If you taught classes for 100$ a week, i'd take them.
You play too much Final Fantasy.
Truly magnificent work. Words can barely describe the brilliance of this art.

since when was not playing any FF, too much FF?

Do you plan on making any tutorials, or could you perhaps link to some of the tutorials you've used?
Also what program do you primarily use?

But it's so frustrating when we have THIS to compare ourselves to! And I think it's safe to say that this is well above my potential... bleh.

Art is a process of learning and growing. We all have the potential to do something, what we need to find in ourselves is the will and patience to be able to accomplish such things.
There are countless times in which I find myself saddened by the fact that I won't be as good as a lot of artists are right now, but i realized that, hey, i'm 16 and i still have years to grow, and with my years of growth comes growth in different aspects of my life, the example being the growth in maturity of my art.
So instead of putting myself down like a lot of us do, I take the things I see and try to learn from them. you should too.

true, it's so much easier. No fiddling around with eraser tool and layering, just pure painting.

It has it's ups and downs.
I was even more impressed when I saw these on Kotaku. You were working on a FF game :O
