If you're listening to the music on iPod earbuds then you're not going to hear much difference
Or find vinyl (re)masters, Usually they are mastered by an engineer that knows what he's doing and respects dynamics :D
pff, dynamics, I'd rather just over compress everything and brickwall it using a limiter so the waveform is just one big square

When I look for torrents, almost all the .flacs I find (especially for more obscure music, have fun trying to find a Holy Sons flac on a public site) are hosted on what.cd or waffles, which are not very easy to get into.

I've tried and failed on about half a dozen melodeath bands. I finally gave up and just bought the albums online. Half the time iTunes didn't even have them, so I gave up trying to get the album(s) altogether.
it depends how the record is produced. with newer CDs (especially for the more popular artists), the trend in production is just to make it loud, which means you lose some of the dynamic range of the music. there's just no way to cut a vinyl like that, so often you can get some more of the subtlety of the music.
Which is really too bad, because CDs have the potential to sound so much better than vinyl. This isn't just with the more popular artists, either. Everyone who releases CDs seems to be an incompetent moron.
Sennheiser4lyfe
Or Monster in-ear headphones.
In my experience, it's hard to notice any substantial difference between an average MP3 and CD-quality music unless you try to find flaws. Even if you do, either one is fine.

Not hard.
I hate the loudness war. Californication (album) by the chili peppers was ruined because of it - It's just far too harsh on your ears, had no dynamic range and because of all the distortion and clipping going on theirs allsorts of horrible high end clicks that come from your tweeters, It's digusting - I wish they would remaster it. Trying to get my hands on the vinyl cut of Stadium arcadium, 4 LP box.
I was just thinking that. Around the World is my favorite song of the album, and Flea's awesome bass riffs sound terrible.
I'm in what.cd, got in on my first interview. Not hard.
Interview? Oh, and I had what.cd for a while, but couldn't seed to it. I could seed perfectly to other torrent sites, but my what.cd torrents wouldn't work
I like mp3's because they are much more compatible and compact. Some of the audio is very sketchy and sloppy though.
Interview? Oh, and I had what.cd for a while, but couldn't seed to it. I could seed perfectly to other torrent sites, but my what.cd torrents wouldn't work
That's because there isn't usually a huge leecher to seeder ratio on private sites, especially what.cd. It's a LOT harder to keep a ratio there than on something like Demonoid. Anyways, to contribute to the thread, I keep my music in V0 MP3's. If I'm planning on re-burning them to CD's, I'll keep them in FLAC as well.
