If I were to rewire a Version 2 gearbox to the rear, would I need to buy new wires? I'm trying to fit a battery in the buffer tube so that I can fit a rail system. I'm not too familiar with wiring, so what sort of wires should I buy so that it is long enough to protrude out of the tube (So I can connect the battery)?

Works for me.

Depending on how much extra wire they gave you, you might not even have to add extra wiring. If it's too short, simply snip the wire about an inch from the connector, cut another pair of wires of the same gauge (diameter) and solder them in between the wires from the gun and the wires from the connector. Don't forget to place heat shrink tubing around the wires before you solder them. Ideally you'll want the connector to protrude from the buffer tube by about an inch. Though either way your battery size is pretty much limited to lipos ranging from 900-1200mAh, unless you go the crane stock route, which I'm not a fan of either.

Yeah, the only reason I'm doing this is because I don't want a PEQ box. Also, are there just wire extensions so I can avoid soldering?
